He just needs to lose all that flab he developed over the years and get really ripped.

How bout... Kevin Nash? Yeah he's rather old now, but hey he looked good in The Punisher as the Russian... But only if he stops taking those estrogen pills from The Longest Yard.

or would this be more your cup of tea....

LOL

Guy on the far right...is that for real or photoshopped?

Batista the only person with the physicallity to play bane not to big or small and he isnt too bad an actor either in the wwe remember this isnt shakespear its a batman movie you dont have to be the next laurence olivier acting wise to play bane.
He's still not good enough.

I don't particularly want to see Bane in a Batman movie (especially considering he was in the film That Shall Not Be Named), but I just had an awesome revelation: Javier Bardem. Seriously, when I watched No Country For Old Men, I immediately thought the dude looked and sounded like Bane should. They'd have to do prosthetic muscles/make-up like Hellboy or the Thing, but it might be cool to see Bale's Batman get his ass seriously wooped by a villain (and of course make a great comeback in the final act). But if Bane were to be in a Nolanverse Bat-flick, Javier Bardem would be the dude to do it. Thoughts?

****Sorry, this should go in the other casting thread, my bad (newb)*********

An actor with the stature of the Rock is perfect. Bane was a normal sized guy, who pushed himself to be better - intellectually and physically in order to survive and escape the prison that he was forced to grow up in. He believes himself to be a warrior and sees beating Batman as a test of his character. While he is a crime lord, being a criminal is not his driving force. He wants control over whatever environment he dwells within. As Batman controls Gotham, he must beat Batman to have control.

He would only need to be as tall as Batman, well built and able to speak fluent English. When on venom he could be CGI enhanced. Not rubber-suited ah-la Batman and Robin.

Christian Bale height: 6 ft 0 in (183 cm)

+

The Rock 6 ft 3 in (191 cm)

= Perfect

Wow, Bardem as Bane would sound amazing. If he was willing to do a voice over foranother guy that could work. Afterall Idont remember Bane taking his mask off much. And that Matthew Willig guy a few posts up looks just like Bane at least how I would picture him

Bane takes his mask off alot. After Knightfall he generally only wears it when in battle. He has shaved sides with longer slicked back hair at the top and sometimes he has goatee. Javier Barden is the best suggestion so far. Why? because he's actually a dramatic actor and not a friggin wrestler

I liked how he didnt in the animated series though. I distinctly recall him wearing a suit and the mask at the same time. But Batman took his mask off at the end. If only to hide a big nonactor so another real actor could dub him without looking bad.

Okay, I was really pissed when the Batman & Robin movie did Bane so poorly...they exaggerated the venom he injects into himself, looked ******ed when they decided to make him look GREEN, and they made him the dumbest thing alive...o ya..and they appearently made it to where he could not even talk -__-.

So who do you think should play Bane if Nolan were to ever bring him into his movies? I would really like to see Bane presented exactly how he should be..but maybe instead of actually breaking Batman's back he only injures him greatly. I do not know who could play him off the top of my head but it should be someone who basically just looks the part..I know Bane is not supposed to be dumb as shown in that crappy Batman & Robin movie...but an actor with GREAT skill is NOT exactly needed for this role.

It's got to be someone who is not only big...but can act as well...

Batista would be Ideal, but I don't see Bane ever being used in The Nolan films.

First off, Daliph nor Goldberg are true actors, they're wrestlers. They have no place in Nolan's Batman universe.

Also, Daliph can barely speak English, and if I remember correctly, didn't even know what he was saying in The Longest Yard, nor does he (most of the time) when he performs with the WWE. Most likely, Nolan would use a very tall double, and dub over the voice using a voice actor. I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that you won't see any wrestlers in the movie, though.

It would probably be better as cg but not taken overboard. Even though Nolan's vision is more down to earth, Bane is basically a monster. It wouldn't look right if he just looked like someone the size of an average body builder like Ferrigno.

Rock would be a bad choice because it'd just be the Rock playing Bane. There's probably some lesser known guy who Nolan would find, like a diamond in the rough and make him a star based on that perfromance. Besides, Rock is WAAAAY better as a comedy guy, his face just doesn't look like a bad guy's face.

Batista could work, but again, his status as a WWE guy would cause too much media problems and I think it'd take attention away from the actual movie.
I do think that people are being hard on the wrestlers though. Think about it, they perform in front of a live audience, no takes, no camera angles or trick photography, 250 times a year, that does take talent whether you have an opinion the media gave you or not, you should at least think of that.

What about Glen Jacobs, or Kane, from the WWE? He's 7 feet tall, weighs 325 pounds, or something like that.

I have no idea what his acting ability is, but as far as the physical description of Bane is concerned, he is pretty close.

A wrestler will not be cast. I can promise you that.

Yeah, Kane would work. Kevin Nash, Triple H, etc.

We don't need an actor of Anthony Hopkin's caliber for this role. Just someone who can speak without sounding like a complete tard - ala "Batman & Robin".

No, they wouldn't. I'm not saying that the film needs an Anthony Hopkins-calibre actor, just not a wrestler. Wrestlers really have no place in The Dark Knight. The Rock, I'd say, is the best wrestler/actor out right now, and even he's not all too great.

Stick with the professionals.

Wrestling requires some acting abilities.

Roles like the Joker, Two-Face, Ra's Al Ghul - those type of roles deserve and require someone great because they are such complex characters.

I love the character of Bane - but it doesn't take an A-list, or even a B-list actor to execute the part properly. His time on-screen would probably be reduced to something lesser than the Scarecrow's anyway.

Just as long as we don't get a grunting ape with a spiked collar and a gas mask, I'll be happy - especially knowing that Nolan is behind the wheel.
