The Dark Knight Rises Bane

There were some pretty bad characterizations in that show...

I think I saw maybe 5 episodes and then forgot all about it. The Intro music wasn't bad though.

Not a bad show but incredibly forgettable.

Yeah, Rastafarian Joker didn't sit well with me.

Yeah, which overall I thought was a good show.

It wasn't my favorite version, but I did like the interpretations of Riddler and Mr. Freeze on the show; they were legendary in the original TAS, but I still thought they were new and interesting. :word:

What could Tom Hardy Play though? Talia and Catwoman are out of the picture, so what else could it be? Black mask? Hugo Stranges, I've not really hard of these villains except for the TAS animated cartoon show which was solid. Maybe it does have to do with that. My only concern is how they plan to tie the Joker to the whole thing. There will have to be some audio appearance or some connection to the last film given that he "won" against Bat Man in a way.

What about a young Bane? a smaller young pre buff Bane? he may play that, it's essentially a sister role to the Catwoman role.

Really? I thought they were awful. Why was Riddler Marilyn Manson??? :funny:

Wait, what? Are you suggesting those two characters are confirmed as not being in the film, or simply pointing out the fact that he's male so he couldn't play a female role?

Not necessarily necessary. I didn't think the Joker won anyway, just put Batman in a rough spot. Batman still got what he wanted in the end.

What?!

I liked Robert Englund and Tom Kenny as Riddler and Penguin's voices. But I didn't really like the characters. If that makes sense. The only character I think they improved on was the Clayface/Two-Face hybrid.

Agreed.

I really want to see a physical thread for Batman, that way Nolan might have to actually shoot better fighting scenes since Bane most likely won't be using ninja like martial arts...hopefully. I want to see Batman get thrown around a bit.
Bane's movements had always been very ninja-like before artists started (beginning with No Man's Land) to draw him unrealistically big, and therefore making it unbelievable that he'd ever be able to do so much as a backflip, even though he'd been roughly on par with Batman in the agility and martial arts department in previous stories:

So yeah, despite his costume's resemblance to that of a Mexican wrestler, Bane doesn't really use wrestling moves any more than Batman does. I'd be disappointed if a movie version of Bane was just using throws and grapples. I want him to be able to rival Batman in skillful kicks and punches. Have some rooftop hopping as well to show off the agility of these two guys. :o
He'll be as big as he can get and the venom can be done through CGI.
Venom never made Bane that noticeably bigger than he already was, unless we're looking at artists' styles that are already unrealistic, even for comics.

Bane on venom:

Bane not on venom (drawn by the same artist, Bane's co-creator):

So if Bane is brought into a movie, and IF he uses the drug in the story (and that's a big if, since it's not central to his character and he really only used it in one story before giving it up), CGI enhancements shouldn't be needed.
a charming/brutal british bane played by Hardy would be AWESOME.

in my eyes Bane does not have to be latin american nor a steroided out freak to work...

He just needs to be well, the evil version of batman.

He and Hugo strange can have very similar goals in TDNR if used correctly (Bane wants to end batman to take over gotham while strange wants to study and become batman in his nutso mind. hugo can be working for the GCPD with and hires Bane to take down the Bat but doesn't realize Bane has grand ulterior motives of his own)

throw in an ambiguous catwoman who plays both sides but ultimately helps bats in the end, and we could have a roller coaster of a movie.

My only fret with hardy as Bane is his height. I believe he's only 5'9 or so,which wouldn't be a problem until he is face to face with bale which in that case thats what apple boxes are for. ;)

and hardy CAN get big. he doesn't need to be Thor size to do the part justice.
being a nolan move, bane will probably be in a suit for most of the film until he is fighting batman, which then he dons the "bane mask" and in my mind a "sleeveless" Batman type costume.(being a nolan film, i dont think bane will be in a luchador type or wife beater outfit but a swat type suit made for battling the bat)

just my thoughts

;)
Very nice.

After 29 pages im shocked no one brought up brock lesnar. no cgi or body suit required plus watch his heel promos from his wwe days. he is intense and super agile for being 6'4 285 pounds put him next to bale as is and he will make him look like a child

I was grateful no one had brought him up after so many pages, but you just had to go and spoil that didn't you? :oldrazz:

guess I did but a batman vs lesnar bane would be brutal he already knows how to fight and pretend to fight makes the most sense to me just pull up a pic of him in his wwe days put a mask on him there ya go he has read lines convincingly on live TV doing it over a couple takes should not be hard...just saying he has all the tools to play bane

No wrestlers other than Dwayne Johnson. None of them could act.

In my original post I meant that I have a good feeling they won't have him use martial arts, or wrestling moves for that matter in the movie, I know how he is in the comics. I imagine he'll mainly be punching the **** out of Batman if he is in the film.

I'd still like to see the filmmakers show off Bane's actual fighting skills, rather than simple punches, regardless of how hard he might be throwing them.

Or a meth-addicted clown from Jamaica.
That would make a ****ing scary Batman villain in its own right. Even better, give him Haitian background and mix in some Voodoo goodness.

I think Bane is the one villain I really want in the third film. I think Nolan can make him f***ing incredible and can redeem the character after the Batman & Robin catastrophe. We need someone Batman can face physically and break him down psychologically. Hardy just needs to get into Bronson shape (If he isn't already) and my excitement will jump off the walls.

...I might actually like that.

Can't help but think of like Baron Samedi or something though. :funny:

Nolan should reinvent Baron Samedi the same way he did The Joker.

Whoa, got an example of that? :wow:
Haha, not exactly Two-Clay or anything. But they couldn't get the rights to Two-Face or Harvey Dent. So they gave Bruce a cop friend who was basically a less powerful black Harvey Dent. He became Clayface. I liked this character better than the Clayface on The Animated Series, I loved that one as well though.
