Well, I'll jump the gun on this one, milost's other account, Dutchman, is likely going to be banned shortly, seeing as he admitted it was him.

I thought there was rules against putting "Banned User" under your screen name?

I thought his constant rivalry with Sawyer finally caused Parker to snap.:o

Speaking of killjoys, was it necessary to delete my "in before the lock" gif in the SW forum?Really?Isn't that what it's there for?!?:o

The mods have been on a deleting spree lately. They deleted quite a few posts in this thread earlier today for no reason. It's been getting to ridiculous levels lately.

Tobias is a poster I remember who loved to antagonize DC fans. He was very anti-WB as well and said that everything that could be done with Superman has already been done with the Donnerverse and SR. He popped back earlier today to remind another poster that SR was the better reviewed film. I agree it wasn't Brandon Routh's fault the film didn't do well (by WB's standards) and it was reviewed better than MOS, but his posts always contain an undefined smugness to them.

I dont really understand this recent crackdown. Unless a post is breaking the rules it shouldnt be deleted. I mean, do old posts clog and slow the Hype's servers? I doubt it. Its like we cant have organic conversations anymore and some good conversations have been deleted for no legitimate reason. If its off topic then move it to the Lounge instead of deleting it. Is it really that difficult to move a post rather than delete it?

If its a question of the Mods being burnt out then perhaps we need a changing of the guard or a rotation. Or hell perhaps some mods need a vacation. It has to get old after a while, but this recent delete spree is like you say kind of ridiculous.

Between the time Marvolo posted about it and you responded, 174 posts were deleted in this thread alone.

It seems like ages ago, but I remember when a mod delete a post it was for two reasons, flaming or porn/nudity. But now having a legit conversation gets deleted.

I can understand if it's a few pages, and to extent, strings of nothing but gifs, but more of the recent string of 5, 6 post deletions for being off-top is starting to get too much. If worst comes to worst, posters usually do get back on topic. These threads are starting to get more and more heavily moderated which makes things even less humorous or fun.

I haven't noticed it.

Its happening mostly in the community it seems. Posts are just getting deleted with no warning, word, or notice. They just disappear. Poof. Gone. I prolly wouldnt notice either if I wasnt on here nearly 10 hours a day.

Well that used to be the mods approach. Allow the thread to moderate itself. We might go off topic for a page (which is completely harmless and normal for a conversation to do), but we always got back on topic, and if something awful or foul was posted it got reported.

To answer your question Marvolo, yes it takes more time to move posts than it does to delete them.

I can actually understand the need to moderate threads that go off topic. The length and subject of the off-topic posts however is a different matter.

This is ostensibly about banned or soon-to-be banned members but it frequently goes off the rails.

Even then, this thread can get back on topic. Even if you look at that the original thread of this there were times where we went off topic but one of us got back on topic. There were no need to delete posts in order to get the thread back on topic. It's not just this thread but several threads in the community has had this problem recently.

Is it such a real problem or offense to shift topics temporarily even if you come back to them within the same thread?
So much that it requires deletion of either thread or posts? Just a question..

You could just was well ask, is it so hard to post in a proper thread?

WCook has only 13 posts and he's already complaining about his posts being banned?

Who are you really, WCook?
