Banned members- actual and aspiring - Part 5

I dont really understand this recent crackdown. Unless a post is breaking the rules it shouldnt be deleted. I mean, do old posts clog and slow the Hype's servers? I doubt it. Its like we cant have organic conversations anymore and some good conversations have been deleted for no legitimate reason. If its off topic then move it to the Lounge instead of deleting it. Is it really that difficult to move a post rather than delete it?

If its a question of the Mods being burnt out then perhaps we need a changing of the guard or a rotation. Or hell perhaps some mods need a vacation. It has to get old after a while, but this recent delete spree is like you say kind of ridiculous.

Perhaps there should be mandatory retirement for the mods/admins after a certain length of time.

Yes, you could. And mind you, I'm not arguing or anything, just wondering.

It's just that conversations usually have a tendency to shift a bit, gradually from the topic that was intended to be discussed.

Like I said, just wondering. I'm new, so, I wasn't familiar with whatever "crackdown" was going on.

Oh, no no. I haven't been banned, I just sort of floated in to read. So I suppose I shouldn't be in here, it was really just a question out of curiosity.

You could also ask do fun threads like "Describe a Hypester with a GIF" thread have to be so heavily moderated that posts that are not inappropriate have to be deleted?

I don't think we'll ever be rid of Kevin Smith. Any of them. Except the one who died, which was the best one.

Someone else I believe. UltimateHero came back after his banishment was up to tell us how he read what we were saying about him then promptly left after he realized none of us really cared.

He talked about how he closed his account and no one could stop talking about him and blahblahblah and the mods stepped in and mentioned he didn't close his account at all then he got all huffy and left.
