Batman: Arkham City - Part 5

As for the Nightwing pic... Looks like he has a mask to me?

Killer Croc? Would explain why Catwoman only warns Ivy since Ivy did make Batman enter Croc's lair in AA, so he could be out for revenge on her...just a thought.

I don't think that's the case, it seems a bit farfetched. Having read it, it seemed more like a general warning about security being a lot tighter in the night than during the day.

It's literally just one line...

Nice

Instead of the Earth One costume, why didn't they just use Bruce's current suit in the mainstream universe? The one he wears in Batman Inc.? I think that would look better in-game than the Earth One design without being too drastically different. If not that then why not Jim Lee's redesign for the DC Universe relaunch? Pretty much the same as the Batman Inc. design but that one has the black bat emblem on the chest instead of the yellow oval-ed Bat logo.

I'm all for getting as much yellow oval as possible. Love the oval. Hope there's an 89 or Returns skin.

just throwing it out there as i'm a huge fan of the burton movies, huge fan of the nolans as well but the hype and fans annoy the hell out of me

keaton was the better batman because he was threatening without trying to me. you seen in his eyes this guy could **** you up anytime he wanted. yes bale has that element but a lot of the time it seems so forced(insert voice joke here)

personally my perfect batman film would be keaton batman with a ledger joker(possible with hamill re-dubbing the voice)

Haha nothing needs to be done with Ledgers take on the Joker. It was flawless.

Great! I am so glad that we will get more alternate costumes this time around! Is anyone else a bit concerned that the Batman: The Animated Series costume might look out of place given the art style?

sorry for an opinion on a completely fictional film. yes ledger was perfect for the joker in the film he starred in but hamill is the perfect voice for the character in my opinion at least

I hope so. I'm counting on that.

It's like you said, it'll look out of place, differently from all the others.
It might look so weird that it might become funny. I think I'll laugh when I make that Batman interact with "real" looking characters.

New ARKHAM CITY GAMING INFO particularly on the newer functions of Detective Mode

- Detective mode features a surveillance system that allows Batman to eavesdrop on enemies, paitaint players will be able to discover alot of the story by simply stopping and listening, though there are red herrings and "Chinese whispers" everywhere.

- Arkham City will feature a compass system at the top of the screen that directs players where to go, when Detective Mode is activated, this compass will disappear, combined with the limited ability to view the environment, this makes navigating the City in Detective Mode difficult.

- Getting attacked whilst in Detective Mode will cause it short out, and Batman's vision will resort to normal.

- Arkham City will feature Elite enemies, like Tyger Guards or the well equipped thugs of the Penguin, they will carry jammers that disable Batman's Detective Mode; "You've then got to identify them, find them and take them out to allow you use it again and carry on" says Dax Ginn

- Catwoman's Thief Vision highlights the City in an orange hue, and enemies become bright white.

I think everyone unanimously agrees that Keaton is the best thing about those films. Even though I hate Returns, and have issues with '89, in many ways I still prefer Keaton over Bale. Maybe that's just nostalgia, I'm not sure. But it's depressing seeing what Keaton was given to work with in comparison to Bale.

Batman: Arkham City – “We’ve Still Got More Reveals To Come”

Batman: Arkham City’s character roster isn’t full just yet – and Rocksteady has told us just the kinds of villain/superhero we might be facing off against or teaming up with come October.

There are more characters from the Batman universe set to be revealed for the upcoming Batman: Arkham City, according to Dax Ginn, marketing game manager at Rocksteady Studios.

Speaking to Play about the slow trickle of character reveals, Ginn said:

“We’re pretty strict at Rocksteady in terms of what assets we allow out of the studio, and everyone knows how important it is to make those reveals have as much impact as possible… we’ve still got some more reveals to come.”

Who that could mean, we do not know. Batgirl? Mr Freeze? King Tut? It could conceivably be anyone in the Batman universe, such is Rocksteady’s penchant for bringing in the marquee names along with the niche characters, purely to give the true fanboys a bit of a tingle. As Ginn admitted:

“We reinterpret those characters – you can see our reinterpretation of The Riddler is pretty dark, our interpretation of Penguin is really dark – so [DC/Warner] give us a lot of creative freedom to push those characters in really interesting directions. But, much like Arkham Asylum, we really want to make sure there’s a load of obscure nods to other aspects of Batman’s history as well, because Batman fans really dig that stuff.”

If we go by the leaked avatars, I'm guessing Mr. Freeze will be last major character reveal after Solomon Grundy is finished with his "official" reveal.

I personally hope we don't get insane requirements in Predator Challenges this time around. Don't ask me to do anything that requires me to get on top of a booby-trapped gargoyle, and don't ask me to punch three different armed henchmen and complete the challenge without losing any health, please.

I hated the combat challenges more. They're still what have kept me from getting Platinum.

I loved the challenges. Even the insane ones, because it made it all the more sweeter when I got platinum.

Probably because the new redesigns are still subject to change.

Well, that...and the redesigns weren't revealed until...what, a few months ago at the most? The redesigns would have needed to be done and handed off to Rocksteady before then. Probably at a time before the changes were greenlit at all.

Haha nothing needs to be done with Ledgers take on the Joker. It was flawless.
Well, there is one thing Ledger's Joker could have used...perma white.

But, it has nothing to do with his performance. Ledger nailed the Joker, though. What he did was flawless.

I actually thought Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were documentaries..

Nice. Just like Batman Begins.

Also..."Chinese whispers"? Huh?

I got it last week. Seriously, I'd try for a few times, then put the game away. It's taken forever, but finally got fed up with it and just sat there and and played over and over. :awesome:

The key is to be able to all 9 of bats combo moves consecutively. Once you can do that every time, it's too easy to maintain you're combos, and every challenge becomes manageable and dare I even say it, fun!

Now, Shock and Awe: Extreme is just pure luck based. Jesus, I hated that challenge. When I beat it, Batman was in mid air about to punch the last henchman, and it was fading black. I barely made it.

The only thing I missed from Ledger's Joker was that he should be a little more crazy. That is, show more of his dark humour.
