With this second movie a huge success and a beloved movie to both moviegoers and batman fans alike...are we definetly hoping for a third movie?

It seems as though there would be no Joker...maybe not even a two face, depending on what you believe at the moment. So my question is...Is it inevitable that this third movie is made by nolan because of the WB being hungry for more box office records and money? Would it be better to leave it at two? What would you like to see?

Nolan has done absolutely great, and he has all my trust in the world....But where can you go from here?? You can't fix whats not broken and I personally don't believe that a Batman world that has already introduced a two face and joker can work as affective without them.

Trilogy's, as we've seen with spiderman 3 for example, tend to let down after the second. How can you top a joker viral marketing?

This movie is huge...I think it will be a very long time before anyone can top it...Unless Nolan has more tricks up his sleeves than we can imagine...Hes the man for the job.

The only way we would be let down is if Nolan did not make Part III.

Story Wise: Better
Box-Office Success: Less

I don't think a third one is necessary, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't like it to happen.

Still if there's no third Nolan Batmovie, there will be a Batmovie coming out anyway.

So here are the things I'd like for both options.

Nolan directing a third movie:

- Scarecrow and Poison Ivy as the villains.
- Begins had a brown filter, TDK a blue one, this one should be red
- Bring back the Tumbler with a few modifications.
- No love interest. his Bruce Wayne is not going to forget Rachel anytime soon.
- Batman still chased by cops throughout the film, but interactions with Gordon have to happen
- Theme: "The choice to use fear to achieve one's ends and the way fear has shaped our society". Batman vs Scarecrow
- The Scarecrow becomes a great villain and menace. His stay in Arkham made him crazier than he was. He is now in full costume and completely unleashed. He actually manages to spread his fear toxin throughout the city, and Gotham erupts in pure panic.

Now, if Nolan's not doing the movie, I hope the next Batmovie will be as far as possible from BB and TDK. I want it original, cause there's no way a simple rip-off of Nolan's style by someone else would work.

- Attach Zack Snyder to the project, or any other director who's willing to respect the comic books to the letter.
- Give the movie a Sin City, 300, comic-book-on-screen style.
- Why not an adaptation of TDKR?
- Have Batman's cape flow like crazy behind him on every shot, play with Batman's traditional iconography from the comics.
- Over the top action sequences, but nothing funny.
- If not a TDKR adaptation, I'd like to see Mr Freeze and Black Mask as the two villains.

Nolan directing.
the same writers.
Riddler, Scarecrow, Killer Croc and possibly Catwoman as villains.
no love interest. maybe just a kiss from Selina in the final minutes.
a good conclusion.
the Tumbler back.
the Batpod.
a torn armor in the final battle.
the main villain dying.

-Nolan as director.
-The Ventriloquist/Scarface as a villain.
-The Batcave.
-The Tumbler.
-The Batcave.
-New Bat Tech.

What I want...

-Director: Christopher Nolan
-Writer: Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan
-Another breath taking score
-The Riddler, Black Mask, and Hugo Strange as the villains
-Some of the citizens are divided by the news of Batman becoming a sudden murderer, while other praise and are happy about what he did.
-No love interest, he doesn't have time for that
-Scarecrow has another quick cameo, where he's locked in a cell at Arkham and Hugo Strange passes by his cell with a clip board, just shaking his head.
-New Batman-car, no Batplane (thats to campy)
-Scene in which Batman visits Rachel's grave
-Batman and Gordan secretly meet at Harvey's grave
-Batman offers to tell Gordan who he is, but Gordan doesn't want to know
-Gordan's wife leaves him because he loses track of caring for his family because he becomes to involved in his job.
-Batman keeps the current suit
-More scenes with Bruce Wayne and Lucius Fox
-Even darker and more depressing
-Theme: Continuation, Moving on, Escalation, Completion
-Moral: "The days will always be dark, but Gotham needs it's hero"

Bat cave
New Batmobile
The Riddler
Bane
More Gordon
Harvey Bullock
Batman and Gordon having secret meetings
A new batsuit or several
A hot female lead
Bruce visiting his parents grave and Rachel's
Scarecrow in Arkham
The Joker in Arkham (just seeing him for the back)

Nolan directing.

What do you mean no love interest? If Selina/Catwoman is in it she would be written as a love-interest to Bruce/Batman.

- Begins had a brown filter, TDK a blue one, this one should be red

You know, I never realized that. I don't know about red though.

Re: Two-Face's sig
Angelina Jolie for Selina Kyle in B3.

It's never going to happen.

the possiblities are there, people cant act like it would NEVER happen

What do you mean no love interest? If Selina/Catwoman is in it she would be written as a love-interest to Bruce/Batman.
not necessarily. Black Cat wasn't Peter's love interest in her episode in SSM.
like I said, maybe one kiss in the end to show that Bruce is moving along.

The police hunting Batman, but he still meets in secret with Gordon.

The Riddler as a serial killer, but one who targets average citizens not public officials. This way the public will regain a shakey trust with Batman.

Catwoman, who is a love interest for BATMAN, never Bruce Wayne.

The mobs taken over by 'freaks' like Penguin, Mad Hatter, Black Mask etc...

The Batcave, fully equipped and amazing.

Arkham Asylum. Batman hauls in Riddler, Scarecrow and Joker are inmates. (maybe Cgi a scene from TDK of Joker laughing in his cell?)

Gordon weeds out the corruption and hires uncorrupt cops like Bullock and Montoya.

Continue the theme of escalation, with the new freaks taking inspiration from the Joker. (explains why they have flamboyant personas etc...)

I want the Tumbler back, but improved. Tumbler 2.0

The contrast of Riddler and Catwoman played upon. Riddler challenges Batman mentally, Catwoman challenges him physically.

Catwoman as a Robin Hood like figure, stealing from the rich (like Bruce Wayne) to give to the poor. Mirroring her good/bad portrayal in the comics.

No one discovers Batmans true Identity.

Re: Two-Face's sig

It's never going to happen.

Then you must be Mr Chris Nolan himself huh?:whatever:

EDIT: I will be fine with what Nolan chooses.

What I want? Nolan to come back and give me what he wants. Have no specific wishes, except that he write the script with his brother again.

  1. Bale, Oldman and Caine returning. Freeman too but not essential.
  2. Nolan Brothers, Goyer and Zimmer returning.
  3. The Riddler as the main villain, played similar to "Simon" in Die Hard With A Vengeance. His calm, calculated persona and riddles are designed to distract from his true purpose.
  4. Catwoman as a female lead/anti-hero/love interest. Basically the way she is portrayed in TLH, with her links to Falcone. NOT Miller's hooker version.
  5. Cameo from Mad Hatter: In an opening sequence where Bats rescues a bunch of kids in a garden maze like Haunted Knight.)
  6. Cameo from Penguin: Owner of the Iceberg Lounge, but is secretly an Arms Dealer for the Mob, manipulated by Riddler.
  7. Cameo from Scarecrow: Freed from Arkham by Riddler, but manipulated into distracting Batman and taking an even BIGGER fall from grace.
  8. A scene inside Arkham, where we can hear Joker's laughter throughout the halls.
  9. Cameo from Firefly: Simply an arsonist with the iconic helmet, hired by Riddler to again distract Batman.
  10. Mention early on of Joker in Arkham.
  11. Another Alfred pep talk.
  12. Batman seen as a hero again by the public, but not all. Cops still distrust him, besides Gordon.
  13. A final rooftop scene with Gordon explaining to Batman that Joker has escaped from Arkham, with Batman soaring off to catch him as a way of showing Batman's quest is never ending to round out the trilogy.

agree with everything except for #5 and #6 but don't know how they will fit that all in

Thanks for the feedback.

I admit, having all those villains in the one film is pushing it, but I think if Hatter & Firely were limited to only 5 minute cameos, Penguin basically given half the screentime of Maroni/Falcone, and Scarecrow only used in one major sequence, they'd be able to do.

Especially if Riddler is more of a "behind the scenes" villain. His presence would not need a lot of screentime until the 3rd act.

Have you read Hush?

Maybe something like this, but I don't know about Black Mask or Hugo Strange. The Riddler + some other villain would be nice.

If another Batman movie is inevitable then that is when I say that Nolan HAS to come back. "It's his baby."

I'm a fan of Cillian's Scarecrow but I think his story is done.
He actually manages to spread his fear toxin throughout the city, and Gotham erupts in pure panic.
That is EXACTLY what happened in Begins.

That is EXACTLY what happened in Begins.

No it's not. In Begins, the toxin is limited to the Narrows, and as a part of Ra's al Guhl's plan because he wants to see the city destroy itself. What I was referring to would be the WHOLE city under the influence of the toxin, with another motivation behind it all: Scarecrow's.

I do agree that it happened in Begins, although on a much smaller scale. But if it's a trilogy, and if Scarecrow is ultimately THE villain of this trilogy (This trilogy being as much about Bruce becoming Batman and facing the challenges that come with it that it is about Scarecrow rising through the criminal element to become the deranged maniac he is in the comics), I think it would be a good thing to have "echoes" to show how 1) the cycle is never-ending, Batman will always have to face those villains coming back and 2) Things always get worse. It basically would be the association of the themes from BB and TDK reunited into the third and final act to be used as a "it can never end" conclusion. And of course, as I already said, the film itself should also offer its own theme.

Of course I'm not talking bright flashy red. More of a... dark red, maybe crimson hue. But anything else will do.
