Batman Begins Batman Begins VS The Batman

Read the first five or ten years of Batman comics. They were pretty damn serious. Anything after 1968 was all about getting Batman back to his serious roots. The Batman comics that were goofy only lasted about two decades. The only "light" Batman movies were the Adam West stuff, and the Schumacher movies. Many fans, including myself, do not believe this to be the true Batman.

Batman Begins had some corny lines....that made it lighter. Not light enough to kill the film or hurt it...but light enough for the film to be fun for....well, outsiders.

Just read Detective Comics #27 and tell me that's not dark and serious.

I'm sorry....Batman winning a costume contest and accidentally attacking an old woman is serious....?

You could read ASM issue 121 and nothing else and think that SM is totally serious...

What the hell are you talking about? Seriously, read that one single issue, and tell me that Batman was never intended to be dark and serious.

lol.....no. He wears underwear out side of his costume for christ's sake!

I suggest you read Batman: Archives Volume 1 and any Spider-Man stuff written by Stan Lee, and see how little you know about these characters.

SM CAN be taken serious......it's not tounge and cheek all the time.
yeah, but in the beginning it was all light hearted. Almost every major hero started out that way.

I dont think you need to read a single Batman comic to know Begins was more serious/dark and "grown up" than Schumacher/Burton counterpart but whether or not you enjoyed or not depends on what you expect from an adaptation. Sometimes an adaption can work without being faitheful, having fantasy fiction and be charismatic (89-97).But if you want to show the essence of the popularity of the mythology and storyline while showing how realistically a Batman story may work justifying universal appeal Begins wins. It all depends on perspective

LMAO.....Sorry, but I have. And it wasn't completely humorless like BB.

You dont have to read to single comic to understand and respect what begins is about. That's not endearing that's just talking down

I bet you want something like Adam West version of Batman on big screen, oh wait it did it was called Batman and Robin (1997) rent it.

It wasnt trying to be. Again with a character like Batman they are different perspective and adaptations over time (including ones you mentioned). Begins was one that was more core to a popular perspective

This what happens when both sides of the comic fan spectrum clash
Actually...I don't really care. I just like to piss fanboys off. Beats homework.

I do read the comics, and yes alot of the more recent stuff is dark, but that is not how Batman started out.

Batman started out killing people

then went campy to be more "kid friendly"

during this time he fought space aliens and wore a zebra batman suit

then since those sold badly after a while they went dark again

and more into the detective realm

then it became more violent

and more dark

but of course he doesn't kill

so you need to study before posting
