Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread - Part 1

He is 60. If he was the right age, yeah, ppl should be excited to see the greatest and most committed performance of all time for Bruce from perhaps the greatest actor. Are you kidding? Who cares if he doesn't have Affleck's square jaw. It's DDL! To me it's a no brainer. Always go for the best actor, especially if that actor can pull off any role under the sun and physically transform themselves. That kind of attitude is why people walked out of Batman in 89 with their tail between their legs. Same with Ledger in 08. If you guys were casting, films would be in big trouble, no risks would be taken, and legendary moments would never happen.

ALWAYS go for the best actor. Especially when they can transform themselves. Repeat until I'm blue in the face.

I have no horse in the race for a new Batman. There are several who I think could do a fine job. Jake included, I think he could do very well. Pace is an interesting one for me, never thought about him as Bruce. Could definitely work.

I guess my choice would depend on what the script calls for. A young Batman? In his prime? Older? Ready to Pass the mantle to Terry McGuinness?

Armie has no charima and said some really dumb things, WB don't need that kind of press.

I'm sure he'd make a great Bruce wayne and all, but I'd feel really bad if he were cast. I'm black and I'm still afraid to see what would happen. But I feel with his talent and look he'd make Martian Manhunter an instant classic.

i'm really not high on Gyllenhaal at all, but you're on point with Lee Pace. He's a phenomenal choice and a fantastic actor.
