No it didn't. Keaton had presence. That's really all one needs to play Batman. The rest is up to how the director makes him look
It's kinda funny that Affleck was the tallest at 6'2. And it showed on screen. He was really BIG. A huge difference than 5'9 Michael Keaton playing the role.
Gyllenhaal is 5'11, but he appears on screen to look taller.
Clooney survived because he was the good looking white man with connections in the business. If he wasn't blessed with that stuff, he would have never recovered.Clooney survived B&R. Pretty shocking because at the time he was only known as a tv actor. Chris O'Donnell's career practically died after B&R
Turner is 36 years old. If he started Bond at 41, stayed healthy off screen, he has at least 15 years worth which easily puts out a trilogy or 4 movies.
Look at Craig, he was 38 in CR and looked amazing, even Skyfall he looked good - whatever happened in Spectre, he just looked puffy and uncomfortable.
I really like Hamm for the role but i feel he wouldn't do the fitness regime and then look 'off' to me - i kind of wish they went the route with Josh Brolin instead of Batfleck - he would be a great older, rugged Bruce. Actually, he could have been a great Bruce had Bale not stepped up. Batfleck in JL was just phoning it in for the majority - makes me wonder how he did in the snyder shot scenes.
Anyways, my nod for the next bruce... i'd love a return to the Keaton era with Luke Evans
Oh please. Hollywood 40 could be like... regular people 28, if you find someone who really takes care of themselves. I mean, Christ, look at this newly minted 40 year old...

Im 511. I therefore completely endorse Gyllenhall for the role, based on this entirely relevant metric alone.
Keaton had presence as Batman. But as Bruce, he looked very undersized.

And it just added to the overall misdirection of the character.
.Whereas Keaton's performance derived from the fact that Bruce spent more time as a hermit in the cave, only ever interacting with Alfred; it resulted in him not knowing how to act around strangers, which made him clumsly and awkward when attempting the acts of the social norm.
hahaha! I think that in this case. That came from being an only child who was born rich.
The only times Bruce/Keaton kinda didn't really know how to act with people was when he was around women he liked. You really see this in His Scenes with Vicki Vale and Selina Kyle.
Other than these 2, He was fine around people.
Even, Kilmer adopted this behavior in his performance. He didn't do it as well but it still worked.

We know he can act. And I think he has the perfect intense look for Bruce/Batman
