Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread - Part 2

I've seen Hamm's name put forward before. I think he could do it. He's a few years older than Affleck though. I'd be surprised if they went older.

He's only one year older (Ben is 45 and Jon is 46). I know it's a long shot because he would then be nearly 50 by the time this movie even comes out, much less a trilogy.

who was being considered for B v S? I seem to recall it was literally just Affleck

Of that list, it's best to go with an unknown actor.

Isn't Scott Adkins a C-list direct to video action star? Come on, there's a better chance 1 of us could be Batman.

Same with Ackles. No way a tv star from the CW lands the role.

Hamm would have worked 5 years ago.

On my list those were the most common names being thrown around here before Affleck was cast. And even now a few of those names stick around in people's Bruce Wayne casting. I'm just saying I wish we could think of more viable candidates that aren't the same ones we were talking about 5 years ago. I wasnt suggesting any on that list. Jake G had my full support tho.

You'll have to forgive me for using an image from Fant4stic as I try to sell him as Batman.

I dunno if we need to sell him or not. If it happens, it happens. :mnm:

Toby is just the guy that I personally think is likely to keep in mind if Affleck departs and Gyllenhaal isn't an option anymore. We have no idea who else Reeves met last year about the role aside from Jake.

But yeah, regardless of it coming from Fant4stic, that's a pretty dope image of Kebbell looking the part right there. Dude could definitely pull it off, I think. :sly:

Very expressive with his eyes.

Toby's more fitting for Joker. His features alone would look great at adapting Joker, and I don't think he quite has the stature or charisma to properly represent Wayne.

I think Kebbell has an decent Bruce Wayne look. He's certainly got intensity behind his eyes. The problem with guys like Affleck is that they don't come off crazy enough.

Not getting Batman from him, personally. He’s at his best when he’s going over the top and that’s the fun in playing the villains.

He does give off a more joker vibe, if he's a fan of clay face his mocap work could be useful there. He could pull of a black mask too.

I think he’s talking about fan suggestions.

But, hey, Brolin confirmed that he was in the vicinity of the role 5 or so years ago.

Sort of.

Not really.

Brolin as Bruce would be so weird. He's too short and his forehead is quite rigid :woot: As a villain, he'd kill it though.

I like Cullen, but I don't think there's any chance he winds up being cast as Batman.

why do you say that? He's a rising star and somewhat unknown. If they wanna pick a non-Hollywood star, he's the best pick as of now.

Oh okay. I feel ya. Excellent point.

The same names thrown around.

I can see him pulling off DKR Bats better than Affleck tbh. It would be grunt-tastic.

Is it possible that those posting suggestions please add a pic of said actor?

Give Ben Afleck a chance to show more...
Its not only his fault for DCs problems...
they need to make his costume more like Bales and hide his eyes.
More technology used by batman, where are the drones, electric fists, maybe those sonic devices that stop superman in his suit or bat-mobiles?

Give better screen writers and watch all the past movies and series more creators, directors and actors...

Leonardo Dicaprio, Mark Wahlberg, Daniel Blake , Johny Depp would make an interesting batman but , I dont want a Hulk situation of many movies with diffrent actors... thats bad for the series itself...

If they only would have contracted actors longer like Marvel did and plan for 10-20 years into the future more and hear more to fan bases and watch what animated and live action series were liked more in the past...

But I really hope Ben to play Batman and get more technological stuff , dialogs and with better sense of humor ... more battles and good dialogs like Christian Bale got in his Batman Begins, Dark Knight and Drak knight rises movies... But much important better and supernatural villians next...

The movie plot and Batmans battles and goal of the movies should be more important then actors themselfs... what they show...

LOL I’m sorry but Wahlberg as Batman has me in stitches.

“What are you?!!l”

“I’m da Baaaatmaaan, ya b***h! Don't eyeball me, boy. I see ya mutha driving up an’ down da street lookin’ at me; I'll be your stepfather by da end of da week. Go Patriots! Tawmmy Brady fah-evah!”

I would say DiCaprio if he were taller and he were more muscular then sure

Hamm turned 47 last month, but yes.

5'11 (though his IMDB page says "6")

Gyllenhaal is 5'11. I believe Tom Cullen is exactly 6 feet.

There aren't too many 6'2 or 6'3 (talented actors with incredible range) in the industry. Always seems the majority of the best actors are 5'6-5'9. Who are all of course too short to realistically portray superheroes who were written 5-6 inches taller in the comics.

Looks way older after Baby Driver

If he's willing to commit, **** it, have an older Batman. I just think he would nail the role from an acting perspective, he looks the part, etc. Like I said I know it won't happen because the next guy they get will likely be tied down for the next 4-5 movies so they avoid another Affleck situation, and I can't imagine someone playing Batman when they're pushing 60.

Then again, if the centerpiece of this trilogy is Bruce passing the cowl off to Dick Grayson, maybe an older Batman wouldn't be as big a deal?
