The perfect Bruce Wayne:

So what do people think the chances are of a new Batman being semi-unknown like Cavill/Routh were?

The more casting choices I hear, the more I'm uncomfortable with clout and star-value having influence on picking the right man for the job. Ben's BvS look aside, no one has ever clicked for me in immediately acknowledging how seemingly perfect they are for the part. That baggage most these actors carry from their filmographies are always gonna have some effect on our perception of them, so unless they get some true acting phenom (bye Jake) under the cowl, I feel like it serves everyone best to start as close to a fresh slate as possible.

Given Reeves' casting history, I'd say it's entirely possible his Batman won't be super well known.

Definitely hoping for an unknown.
Get someone that can just BE Batman:D

I had never seen Cavil in anything before MoS and I can only really see him as Superman now.
I want the same for Batman.

Plus, there's all sorts of tricks that can be done with camerawork and stuff to make Oscar look taller if so desired.

Isaac is more like 5'7 and there's no way camera angles and tricks can make him look Tall

Great actor, but he'd make a better Two Face or Penguin than Bruce Wayne. Plus he's like 40

Once again with the 5'7. Where are you guys getting that? All I've seen are 5'8 and a half or 5'9.

He just needs lifts to raise him up a couple inches and put him at average male height.
That’s all batman needs to be

Isaac is Black Mask material, not Joker or Latino Batman.

I think he could play Joker or Black Mask so I disagree with you there.

Still though, nice to see you Shauner. It's been a while.

I could see Reeve going for a lesser known actor.

Daisy Ridley is 5'7''. Every photo of them when she's in flats, they're the same height. Every photo that she's in heels, she towers over him.

But I thought you didn't care?

When did I say I didn't care?

This image does not confirm he's 5'7, but he's shorter than Boyega who seems to be 5'9:

Guys, if we're arguing for a non white actor to play Bruce, why are ya'll overlooking the best option?:

Idris Elba

I mean, don't get me wrong, I think Isaac is suave, but he seems more suited to like a Tony Stark-ish hero than a Batman to me. Though I think he could work there.

To be clear, I don't think characters should be race changed. But if we're going to, I say Elba.

Right. :funny:

"You know what role he'd be perfect for? The guy that wears a black skull mask all the time."
I actually think he would sell the role pretty well. I think a character who wears a black skull mask all the time should have a presence. Though maybe Isaac's presence is mostly his face and we might need to see it, so I still say Harvey Dent. We see half his face at least!

Or...you know, he can't play an old-money Scottish guy. Which makes perfect sense.

Oscar's awesome, but it's not right for the character. You wouldn't want Colin ****in' Farrell playing Zorro or whatever.
