Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread - Part 3

I'd be down to give Tyler Hoechlin a chance. He's 30 so he's the perfect age to start if he were to be in it for the long haul.

He's younger than Henry Cavill by 5 years, but that's not really a huge deal. They could age him up a little bit if need be.

Yeah, I get the sense that they're just being unusually discreet with the particulars.

I'm guessing if they are looking to recast they won't announce Ben's departure until they have the new guy lined up. So the press release focuses on that rather than headlines/articles solely focusing on the bad PR of one of your major stars leaving.

What are his acting chops like nowadays? The last thing I saw him in was Road to Perdition; he was just a kid back then.

Absolutely, and that makes perfect sense given the current fandom climate.

He's Clark Kent, Superman, on The CW's Supergirl now so that pretty much means he's out of contention as Bruce Wayne in a film.

Does it though?

It’s not like he’s a regular on the show.
He was in what? 2 episodes?

Well if people take issue with Oscar Isaac's height, then Theroux isn't much better.

And those same people don't know how movies work.

Eerie, I was just thinking of Tyler as a possibility the other day.

I mean even if Tyler Hoechlin was playing Superman that is in the CW Universe not in the DCEU so I don't see how that would have any bearing on anything as far as him playing Bruce Wayne/Batman especially if they go for a younger Batman

If they go with an older Batman thinking about it Justin Theroux is actually the right age to play Bruce and not to mention he actually looks like he could be Bruce as far as comic book look/playboy billionaire type look he has that down pat but does he have the mysterious dark side that comes with it all?

DanielRPK saying we will hear something tomorrow. Obviously take with a huge grain of salt.

That guy has a better track record than most of his ilk. Tomorrow could be the day, folks.

I can see the headline now.

"Breaking! Batman script still being written."

I’m not buying it. If they were going to announce anything, it would have been at comic-con.

It a "scoop" from one of the new sites. Not an official statement from Warner Bros.

If it's broken by one of the trades (e.g., Deadline, Variety, TheWrap), that's close enough. We generally don't get official updates from WB.

This guy broke the scoop about DuVernay and the New Gods; he alluded to the recent update on BoP that was ultimately revealed by The Wrap. He's been right about other stuff as well, so I wouldn't be so quick to write him off.
