TOBY KEBBELL - BATMAN

Toby-Kebbell-400x600.jpg

Reasons Why:
-Has history with Director Matt Reeves.
-He fits the age profile that they will be aiming for with the new Batman.
-He'll be able to perfect Batman's voice and mannerisms.
-Despite starring in the failed Fantastic Four reboot, he's still a solid actor. That movie just wasted a lot of talent. As we've seen with Chris Evans, Michael B. Jordan, and others; if the actor is good enough, they can bounce back in another role.

I would've preferred from the getgo, if the Batman casting had been more like this:

That’s an awful, lot of good-looking, boring white people you have there :woot:

I get the choices, but I’d like some more out of the box choices when Reeves gets around to casting.

What's boring here and what does them being white have to do with it? Most of the characters are white. But according to her wikipedia, Morena Baccarin is Brazilian-American and is of italian descent.

I don't think WB wants this movie to bomb, so no.

Don’t you know? Fantastic Four was all his fault:o

He's talented, but his box office record really is crappy. He's pretty much always the best thing in whatever he's in, but I can see studios being scared to give him the job because he can't seem to crack the box office safe.

I wouldn't expect box office reputation to play much of a part (if at all) in this role. The main draw is the character, not the actor. It doesn't matter who's in that cowl.

Still, they tend to hire people who's careers are on the upswing and have some momentum. Toby Kebbel is on a downturn right now.

Doctor Doom from Fantstic Four as Batman?

It wouldn't surprise me if Kebbell is on Reeves' list.

I think he'll 100% get a key role in the series as long as Reeves' the director

All his movies bomb :funny:

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Worldwide: $710,644,566

Toby played the villain Koba :sly:

Kong: Skull Island
Worldwide: $566,652,812
https://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=legendary2016.htm

Toby was THE Kong...and a soldier

I bet WB is scared s*** right now because Reeves' latest movie shrunk by 1/3 at the box office (War of Apes @ 490M WW)

A Charlie Cox type would make for a pretty convincing Bats IMHO. Thanks to Flickchick for the suggestion (sort of).

Ethan Peck who was just cast as the new Spock in Star Trek: Discovery could physically fit the role. And his grandfather Gregory is often a visual model for Bruce Wayne for some artists like Alex Ross

I don't think he's right for Batman, but we've got one half of the live action BERT & ERNIE movie cast!
