Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread - Part 4

Just due to the fact that there's been zero confirmation one way or the other, I suppose it's possible, but... I would be shocked if he's sticking around. It just doesn't make sense for anyone involved. Post-BVS, Affleck's enthusiasm just evaporated, and there's no way that's changed post-JL. From the studio side, there's been two stinkers with Batfleck as, arguably, the star. If Reeves is really cooking some good **** up here, I can't see Affleck's on-screen presence being anything but a liability.

New blood is a necessity IMO.

Yeah I guess if WB is also sour on the relationship then I wouldn't bet on Affleck returning.

I also doubt that WB would say "Matt Reeves, go ahead and make a story about a younger Batman!" if they were dying to keep Ben around.

Honestly I feel if Affleck was back they would have made a bigger deal of it by now. I know he's still technically under contract (at least publicly), but given all the drama and negative vibes surrounding his rumored departure you'd think WB would've said something about him reprising the role if that were the case.

You guys see the recent photos of Ben Affleck from the other day...dude is looking pretty slim/getting back into shape. (Maybe he's not going anywhere.)

I love how "Ben isn't looking fat these days" is seen as a clue that he might still be Batman. That's where we are, folks.

I think he's getting in shape for The Accountant 2.

Bruh they can totes make him look 25 just gotta airbrush him up a bit.

I've been watching the new series Condor and have been impressed with Max Irons. I could totally see him playing Bruce Wayne/Batman. Also if you haven't seen it Condor is an excellent spy thriller.

Only if they keep Jeremy as Alfred.

heh, Brendan Fraser is on that show as well

I like it.

Although if it happens I kinda want Poison Ivy to seduce Bullock and inject him with some sort of plant-based chemical in a dive bar lavatory.

Could you imagine if Max Irons Jeremy's own son of all people being cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman? It would be kind of weird if that happened

Maybe Martha and Alfie got frisky when Thomas was away for work and, well...

I do not hate this.

He looks like a young Mark Ruffalo in that picture.

I want a Batman movie unlike the others. We've seen him portrayed as a bit of a psycho. A troubled soul. A brute force tank. For once could we have a very intelligent and clever guy who is not only super observant and great deductive powers like Sherlock Holmes or House etc. Someone who can read people very well. Someone who rather than coming in like blockbusters guns-a-blazin blowing crap up instead plots a huge sting operation much like Ocean's 11 or something like that and takes the villain down using minimal violence and brute force? A Sherlock-Bond hybrid. Master of disguise. Escape artist. Scientist. Magician sleight of hand master. Who just happens to wear a costume when he needs to but use it very sparingly. Make it about the man and his skills and knowledge not his gadgets so much. And give us Oracle to help him. Make her part of the team. Alfred has his place as advisor and confidant and possibly useful in the field. But Oracle is in his ear when he's on an op. And he's mostly covert using disguises. And the car is also covert until he needs it not to be.

I like this idea - i always said i wanted a situation where Bruce plots a night months in advance, recce the area, set up traps and then when the time comes, strikes - goes in, gets what he wants, then out, trouble is, the joker/villain was expecting something and did a booby trap, therefor trapping Batman... then (have you ever seen the film 'leon' i think it's also known as 'the professional' the escape scene?) have the final act him getting out alive, with the cargo.

Ah, then the old Doctor can take his place in the batsuit:

Make it happen, Matt Reeves, you even share the same first name, and you know how important that is ... :sly:

While I like most of this, I think he needs to be Batman though, I've always loved the idea of Bruce Wayne being the mask and Batman being who he is. Like in BvS when he's hesitant to go to the Luthor party as Bruce and his mind first goes to "I'm gonna need the suit".

But I'd like to have disguises and god tier detective skills too. Him investigating crime scenes as Batman, all the good stuff.
