Under 30

Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Jack O'Connell
Jack Reynor
Nicholas Hoult
Taron Egerton
Tom Bateman
People have dissed Johnson for this role, but I kind of feel like he'd be a solid safe choice.

Robles is just another citizen journalist, who I’ve never seen get a real scoop right once.

I don’t trust anything these Twitter jockeys say. I’ll wait for the trades before I believe anything.

I just want a very strong actor in the part. I could give two ****s about what his chin looks like. We did comic accurate with Affleck, and got a middle of the road performance from a middle of the road actor. Batman should have better.

Mario is legit. Everything, and I mean, EVERYTHING he's reported on Batman has been accurate. Been following him for momtmo

I mean, for all these folks talking about hearing names, is there even a chance in hell we get casting before summer?

Well for the sake of conversation:

Hes hearing 10 names:
- 8 of them would require complete trust in Reeves
- 1 of them is closer to the comic book mold
- 1 of them is the comic book mold

Unconventional choice also gives me vibes of:

Ansel Elgort

This is it, huh? lol

@flickchick85 this be the end of the fandom? You know where to look for me. BvS nightmare suit and all.
Oh God, I hope your vibes are wrong there. I'm not sure I could keep my guarantee if that were the case, lol.

As I said in the other thread, I trust whoever Reeves decides for the part. I have faith

Both Reeves and Warner seem to have a shortlist but I still think they might end up putting 100 actors for audition so things might change if one of them turns out surprising

I'm thinking we've got our guy no later than March.

If there really are 10-ish names flying about, those probably include studio picks and Reeves' picks. The "1 that IS the comic book mold" is probably the studio's, lol.

I think @Jekecy is likely correct and Reeves' range is so narrow because he already has his top choice(s) in mind, and those just happen to be their ages.
This got me thinking to back when Jake was first rumored.

Nov '17 and Reeves was already meeting with actors face-to-face (if the report is to be believed). And it's only now, 1.5 years later, that the script is being finalized? That would mean this script is practically tailored specifically for the actor. Given how much Reeves puts emphasis on focusing on Batman's POV, I imagine he'd have to have intimate and lengthy discussions with his prospective star before everything is set in stone. They've gotta be on the same wavelength if it's to truly work. This unusual "audition process" makes sense to be so long.

Reeves and the Batman-to-be may have had a verbal agreement as far back as a year ago.

I don't want to get too ahead of myself here, but a director/actor duo being so involved with one another for this long, makes me so intrigued at what they've got cooked.

The only young actors that would really give me pause are:

Asa Butterfield
Dylan O'Brien
Kodi Smit-McPhee
Lucas Hedges
Timothee Chalamet

Those would give me pause, too. But I'm thinking if Kroll's source is accurate (and I trust him more than any of these other scoopers), then all those other than O'Brien would almost certainly have fallen into his "too young" category. I think the ages pitched were likely 25 and 32 (Hammer). So something in between there is probably what we'll be looking at.

Another option that might fit Reeves' potentially "unconventional" mold is Jack Lowden (Age 28):

After War & Peace, Dunkirk and Mary Queen of Scots, the guy is kind of on a roll, so I could imagine him being on a lot of lists.

There could be 100 potential Batmen in a room, and 99 aren't good, but one is and it can change your whole life.

So is Dan Steven's out of the question? :( He's been my choice since the rumors of Affleck leaving started surfacing last year. It would be a shame if he's not at least given the chance to audition
