Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread - Part 4

Just keep Scott Eastwood away from this.
I don’t understand why people are so obsessed with casting him in these movies. He’s so bland that he even makes Sam Worthington look like a paragon of charisma. He’s even a popular choice to play Wolverine(ugh!). Kind of shows how really bad some fans can be at casting these characters, and makes me thankful that the people making these movies never pay attention to fancasting.

Probably because of his "leading man" look and being the son of Clint Eastwood doesn't help. I've seen his name come up for countless roles and I always sort of scoff at the suggestion. Dude has no range as an actor and he's as dry as a block of wood.

Yeah, Stevens is my pick. He's perfect

Sam Clafin and Jamie Dornan as well
So, I've lately decided that outside of those horrid Fifty Shades films, Dornan's actually not a bad actor, but he seriously, SERIOUSLY needs some major accent coaching before he even thinks about playing another American ever again. His attempt is honestly painful to listen to.

Stevens is a good actor, I don't really see the "Batman" though. Might make a good film Green Arrow or something.

Beyond having acting chops I just see him as sort of middle-of-the-road. He could sort of work appearance-wise, but there are people who have the look way more down than he does. He's not little, but he's not particularly big & imposing either. Doesn't really seem to have any way-out-of-left-field "totally wrong but somehow it works!" factor like Keaton either, he's closer to the role than Keaton on paper but doesn't have that weird x-factor about him either. He can do serious but he's not all that intimidating. *Shrugs* Just probably other superhero gigs he'd be more suited to.

Like Legionn-oh, wait.

He's good in Legion. Really good even.

Just don' t see where the "good for Batman" stuff is coming from. Like, hell, Gosling's a great actor, he does serious stuff, he's about the right age. Darker hair and he'd broadly have the look down okay. Still not that 'Batman-y'. Kinda the same thing with Stevens.

Like...physically/archetype-wise he doesn't nail it the way Affleck did. Brooding-obsessive-psycho-wise he doesn't bring it like Bale. And sort of doesn't seem to have whatever the hell weird thing it was that made Keaton work.

If they cast him I'm sure he'd do just fine, just don't really get the logic behind the fancasting popularity here.

I bet it's just the talent managers and agents trying to get their client in the door and in front of Reeves.

Keep in mind guys, whoever gets this role, it's a potential huge paydirt for whoever represents them.

SO what's the actual story, the actor they choose will portray a younger ben affleck version of bruce wayne ? or affleck He's officially done forever as batman ?

Affleck is DEFINITELY gone. He will not be playing Batman again. We don’t know if Reeves Batman will be the same version or not, but it looks extremely unlikely. Most likely outcome is a rebooted Batman.

Whatever your feelings on the subject, it won't be long now before we get our first REAL list of prospective candidates. Exciting times, folks.

Given Kroll's tweet, I'm gonna assume that Reeves is somewhat flexible on the age requirement.

Whatever the case, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Aidan Turner are my top two choices for the time being.

and that's for the best. The Snyder era is done, and I think people need to start realizing that

On paper, the best candidate is perhaps Armie Hammer.

- 6′ 5″
-32 years old
-Has put together a stronger filmography in recent years
-Previously linked to the role

Personally I think he'd crush it, but we'd be in for another polarizing response on the internet if he were cast. People are so hot or cold on him.

well the synder era still has gal & momoa...& JL doesnt even look like a film he will Do
dont think he deserve all this hate but whatever

So I know casting Tom Hardy would be awkward now, but...that doesn't rule out his budget twin!

Is that Logan Marshall?? To me he's extremely talented and i love some of his movies, something i can't say about his overrated clon Tom Hardy :o
