Objectively speaking, Jared Leto is a lot more attractive than Joaquin Phoenix. And yet...

I am straight and a male, so i'm not sure i'm objective, but i find Pattinson somehow weird looking, and at the same time he has this charm. I can say that the guy is handsome in a weird way ahah

I'm not saying his unattractive but he just doesn't fit 'playboy' Bruce Wayne imho

To be fair, Johnson was not that good as the straight guy, in flicks directed by not that good director's actors ( and passable script) Ultron being the exception ( and one can say, that he was not the straight man in it. Whedon did not put his a game either, aint' it? )

I felt like Pattinson could certainly pull off a modern day playboy thing, considering the amount of famous women he's probably dated in real life. Also wasn't his face plastered in every teenage girl's bedroom circa 2010? That's gotta count for something, even if he wants to forgot about those days.
Most importantly, Reeves said his film would be "emotional", and I could 100% buy Pattinson as a tortured soul. ATJ? Not so much.

Well, basing on what we know, he wants a young batman ( but not an origin story) in a psychological and detective Hitchcokian thriller. IF ( it's a stretch, but lets play the game) we're talking about a story arc, based on the allegedly actor list :he wants a guy who can play cocky, brash, and learning his detective way maybe?

Ok, I can see people calling him handsome; didn't really see it before but he's certainly a handsome dude. Buuuut... Superman's like the ultimate straight man role, and those things are ATJ's kryptonite. He could be a really good Batman villain though.
We don't even know if Cavill's coming back, but if we're recasting Superman imo Justin Theroux from The Leftovers would be amazing, even if he's getting a bit old. It'd probably only be for one film, but he could be incredible.

I will just add to the straight man argument that Jack Gyllenhall was a terrible straight man ( especially in prince of persia) and nowdays he is good in almost everything ( with good to great directors and script) Johnson has this explosive energy, and this charm. (But it's also in the eyes of the beholder of course) All that under a great director and a great script can make the difference

Ps : he seemed not that bad, in the Wall as the somehat straight man( or was he? ) ? I didnt see it, and i hear it's just an ok movie, but still?

If WB chose Ezra and his first-time grimdark script over the guys who did the best studio comedy since 22 Jump Street then they'd be fools. I'm almost 100% sure that Ezra's gonna be out, if only for his tantrums on that film. Billy Magnussen would be an awesome Flash

I don't know about 'grimdark', the rumors are 'darker'. Even Shazam! isn't as light-hearted like it seems.
The biggest take was emphasizing the 'multiverse', might be too soon for the first solo.

I like Ezra, but if he's going to leave then I hope for other great actor for the role.
