What time does big news usually drop?

Ben Affleck’s casting as Batman dropped at like the end of the work day, for reference.

Armie Hammer. And Robbie Amell is close by just for his comic accurate Bruce Wayne looks alone.
For me, you have to look the part in order to be considered in the first place. For my favorite fictional character I want the archetypical look established in the canon to be carried on in the silver screen, at least somewhat. And people like ATJ and Lerman do not carry that at all (hence my disdain for such picks). And casting directors know that "looks" are what sets your foot in the door and ultimately makes up for half the performance.
And acting can be learned with great performances coming out of nowhere (especially at the hands of a great director like Matt Reeves).

If you have such high esteem for Reeves as a director, why not give him the benefit of the doubt in the event he casts someone you don’t automatically envision in the role?

This won’t be the first or last time a left-field choice would be picked for a major comic book role. Nor would it be uncommon for fan outcry to be proved wrong by the time the full performance is completely displayed. Hell, in this franchise alone both its majors players in Batman and Joker have had initial casting backlash, only for the respective actors to become icons of their generation.

This is another mock up to show the more casual, hip, edgy more Reeves style Batman that I know Tellaarr will adopt once he obtains the role. He is unconventional but has a heart. Cares about justice but will be flawed. He clearly can maintain a certain poise but also be calm and cunning, a striker but yet a calculating master detective. He’s got that wry confident Sherlock style detective smile like a cool calculating cat, dog or whichever cunning animal there is

Look I know I don’t have great photoshop skills and don’t have as much technical polish as Simon Kinberg but learn to appreciate this man for the role; BELIEVE in his scepter of talent and body. He has the courage to make it work. Believe in him

He’s going to be stellaar. I’m starting to really see Bruce could be played by this fellaar. I hope Selina Kyle goes to Sarah Michelle Gellaar.

Well, first of all, I’ve seen Amell act. He wouldn’t be a good Batman.

Second of all: I like Gadot, but she has quite some ways to go as an actress.

Acting talent is overrated.

WB never does casting announcements at Comic Con and it'd be dumb as hell since then people would be talking about Batman instead of Wonder Woman, Joker and BoP. Also unless it's Armie Hammer it's too risky because of audience reaction.

I have confidence ATJ could pull it off. Most importantly, I trust in Matt Reeves.

Same here. He hasn’t mis-cast anyone so far in his other movies. I’m confident he knows what he’s doing on this project as well...
