Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread - Part 6

Hoult is fine as an actor, but #1 I can't see his oddly shaped head looking good in a cowl, and #2 I'd prefer not to have someone who just played a Comic character for like 4 films. I'd rather a new face that hasn't worked in the genre before, especially for a character as big as Batman.

Agreed. He also has a receding hairline which I can't look past.

Robert Pattinson or Chris Abbott for me. Just please no Hoult or ATJ.

I don’t think it’ll be AH for that exact reason.

Pattinson definitely has the acting skills for the part, but I'm not a huge fan of his look for Bruce. Now, if they do Court of Owls, he'd make a great Lincoln March.

The more I think about it the more I like the idea of Hoult as Batman.
Put some muscle in that boy and I think he’d work really well.

His stint as Beast is why I wanna see that transformation with a young Bruce. For the first time ever, Bruce is a meek looking playboy watnot who has to harden himself to be that master detective.

Yeah... As someone who has dealt with the misfortune of a receding hairline, I can tell you that I envy the **** out of Hoult’s hair.

IDK, Hoult with the right trainer could become a beast...oh wait

but seriously, he's tall isn't it? build some muscle tone he'll look fine, like we had a skeleton Christian Bale turning into Fatman before

last resort we can always CGI the heck out of the guy right, right? at least they're experienced at modifying the upper lip

I don't think either ATJ, Lerman, Hoult or Cole Sprouse are gonna get the role if they all indeed screentested. What I think happened a few weeks ago is they screentested, everyone that spread that rumor thought they were going to choose one of those so the announcement was coming that week but none of those managed to convince during the audition so the announcement didnt come.

My speculation is since none of those guys convinced, WB is looking for maybe pushing production back a bit mostly to accomodate the schedule of another actor like let's say Pattinson, Hammer or some other guy we've yet heard of.

Except Hammer is a way better actor than Affleck and wouldn't be nearly as controversial.

I could understand a pov of Hammer being a better actor than Affleck, but a "way better" one? Come on, lol... It's not like Affleck hasn't given critically acclaimed performances and Hammer on the other hand is an Academy award winning performer... And nobody gives a **** about an initially controversial cbm casting anymore. Even the people complaining know deep down that their reactions are unfounded and are open to be swayed in a glimpse of the actor in the suit or at most a second of screen time in a teaser trailer, lol...

Got my list narrowed down to these three:

Christopher Abbott (My #1 choice)
Robert Pattinson (My close-second choice)
Ethan Peck (My wild-card choice that I'm more curious about than anything else)

If by some chance it's any one of these three, I'll be a pig in ****.

Affleck has never given critically acclaimed performances. He's done performances where hes just fine. What he gets praised for is his work behind the camera. Hammer on the other hand has been praised by critics and directors for several of his movies and has way more range than Affleck

I'm not feeling Peck for this, but Abbott would be good
I confess that I only bring him up because I really like his look for it, he's fresh on the scene, and he's openly expressed interest in the role. I figure give him an audition at least.

I do concede that I am mostly unfamiliar with him as an actor, and by putting him on my list I am basically going all-in on Reeves' ability to bring out the best in him. That's all moot if Peck is simply not that strong of an actor.

Uhmm, excuse me but this is some horse ****, lol... Here are all the multiple accolades given to him for his acting performances by the most serious and prestigious organizations in the world: Ben Affleck - Awards - IMDb
Again, there's nothing wrong with believing that Hammer is a better actor than Affleck, but heads up, with posting such infactual BS you hurt your narrative.
