Batman/Bruce Wayne Casting Thread - Part 6

I'm willing to bet that it's going to be a shortlist of some of the actors in contention for the role (like how it happened for BoP in THR) and not the casting announcement itself.

I have a feeling we don't even get a shortlist. And while it might give us something to discuss, I'd almost prefer that we don't get one. Because what will happen is everybody will pick their favorite candidate, and then when their candidate doesn't get the part they'll throw a fit.

Just drop the news when the guy is cast.

This is another mock up to show the more casual, hip, edgy more Reeves style Batman that I know Tellaarr will adopt once he obtains the role. He is unconventional but has a heart. Cares about justice but will be flawed. He clearly can maintain a certain poise but also be calm and cunning, a striker but yet a calculating master detective. He’s got that wry confident Sherlock style detective smile like a cool calculating cat, dog or whichever cunning animal there is

Look I know I don’t have great photoshop skills and don’t have as much technical polish as Simon Kinberg but learn to appreciate this man for the role; BELIEVE in his scepter of talent and body. He has the courage to make it work. Believe in him

Well, I'm convinced.

I could see it going either way personally, but as a fan, I agree. I'd kinda rather they skip past the shortlist stage and just announce the actor when he's cast.

It's typical 'mega scoopers' behavior. "we don't know but MAYBE but IF NOT then LATER" lol

Gotta keep them clicks rolling in.

What I find hilarious (and I fear others might be annoyed with)
I have a top 5 actors who should tak over 007 (Fassbender Hardy Hiddleston Hemsworth and lately the guy playing Alfred in Pennyworth Jack Bannon I think his name is)

but for Batman a character I love I am at a complete loss with

Honestly its annoying Chris Pine was in Wonder woman as he would make a fairly decent Batman

Sigh

my list to date

1. Ben Barnes
2. Bradley Cooper
3. Chris Evans (I just think he would be perfect)
4. Thomas Jane (older sure but he was great as the punisher)
5. Michael Keaton returning again

Hahaha, that's me on the tweet above, lol... Posted the same thing above as you can you see, hehehe...

Not cast yet? Just a shortlist?
There's still hope... this dude could be the best live-action Batman ever

Also, lmao, Reeves joined this project in Feb 2017, the Venom film was announced in April 2017 and Venom 2 will still be out 8 months before this. Hell, Black Panther 2 could be out before this too. Really hope Reeves knocked this script out of the park, I loved his last 4 films

By the time Reeves releases his first batfilm, he would have completed almost 4 whole years of work on this single project (July 2017 through late spring of 2021).
Meanwhile, the Russos wrote, shot and completed work on both Infinity War & Endgame on a very similar time frame. Even BvS took less to get made and be released (and remember the waiting for that?), lol...

He only signed on in 2017. His Apes film was still to release in July of that year. He didn't start working on Batman until end of 2017 at the earliest.

And the Russo brothers didn't write Infinity War or Endgame. They only directed.

Reeves went on record many times back in July of 2017 that he started work on Batman right after his Apes film got released. Here's one example:
So you are dead wrong in thinking that he started in "late 2017 at the earliest"...
Also, the Russos might not be credited for writing them, but they were so hands on in the process and they have countless times asserted how many months they've spent together on a room with Markus and McFeely breaking down the stories and the characters and everything. They were literally going from the editing bay of Civil War to the writers' room for Infinity War & Endgame in a given day.

You can't spin this longass wait into something positive. You just can't. It's honestly taking forever, and it's still 2 years away. Hopefully it will all be worth it.

So glad none of you where here for the eight year gap between Batman and Robin and Batman Begins.

For all we know Reeves spent a good chunk of time mapping out his entire three-film arc.

It's taken a bit of time, but the point is we are in the home stretch now.

man I remember those years...

It's Batman Triumphant

now its Batman Beyond

now its Batman Vs Superman
Now its Batman 5
now its...

Ah the days sometimes I look back on the old rumors (kurt Russell for Gordon and Affleck for Batman in 2004 along with Ashton Kuthcer for Batman in 2004) and smile to myself
