I mean what Reeves is rying to so here is hard though. He wants to make a mix of Chinatown (possibly the best screenplay of all time) with the character study style of Taxi Driver with Batman on it thar somehow also has spectacle and is appealing to the general public. It makes sense it's taking so long

Why put it all on the line for Reeves? I don’t get why WB and some of you guys have such faith in him. Surely someone else could have done just as good of a job in half the amount of time he’s spent.

There’s a lot riding on the success of Batman. It’s their most prestigious property and currently the one with the highest ceiling for longevity and success.

They mess it up here, it’ll be a huge blow to the company’s reputation.

Reeves has a clout from those Apes films, and It helps that acclaim is in large-budget affair. This is probably their best shot at a true successor to Nolan. Ilk of their kind are very hard to find.

I don’t necessarily even have faith in Reeves based on how long this is taking, his previous work, and the rumored contenders, but it’ll be nice once we finally get our new Batman.
