At least this movie won't suffer the two many cooks in the kitchen problem which has historically plagued many CBM franchises such as Spider-Man.

Though I think there should be a co-writer to challenge Reeves to an extent. Didn't Reeves have long Skype calls with Mark Bomback so maybe he'll get story credit?

How about a writer from the comics? Denny O’Neil for a classic flavor, and maybe Snyder or King from the more current stuff?

Aaaargh! This is like buying two copies of time cop from walmart! Two for 2.99 or one copy for 8.99! Bald Nolan gave us the best live action origin and sequel to a live action Batman, and it didn't take him this long! Someone get Schumacher on the damn phone! I'm done waiting.

THE BATMAN Likely to Begin Filming in Early 2020 – BATMAN ON FILM

The casting process is underway as we speak (and the new Batman on film might’ve already been chosen)

Keep in mind that BATMAN BEGINS, um, began filming in February of 2004 and Christian Bale’s casting in the lead role was in August of 2003. If casting for the new Batman in THE BATMAN follows suit, then we’ll find out at some point during the next 3 to 4 months.

So neither Variety or Collider have heard anything about casting. This is hysterical.

Catch-22 is my favourite book of all time, so I'm really interested to see Abbott's turn as Yosarian there.

I think Pattinson would be the 'most interesting' choice as far as seeing something absolutely new brought to the role but as far as 'safe' goes, it Hammer all the way. My thinking is (and clearly I don't know this) but Reeves doesn't strike me as the kind of director to cast 'the expected'.

Christopher Abbott's eyes aren't masculine enough (and are too weird) for a character and man like Bruce Wayne.

Here are 5 casting suggestions that most of you probably haven't fallen upon (at least some of them):

- Jack Lowden (I could see him with a black hair dye and if he were to develop an american accent)

- Darren Criss (definitely a good dramatic actor that has won an award recently for a show but perharps too soft looking for Batman? I think I would like this casting choice very much, though)

- Zane Holtz (kinda looks like Michael Shannon, lol... I would definitely approve of this casting! He was also in the mix for Shazam)

- Alan Ritchson (wouldn't be mad at all... In fact I think it would be a great casting! Liked his Hawk... A little outside the age range, though)

- Florian Munteanu (no matter how much I liked his Drago, most likely not good enough of an acting talent to carry this role and franchise for what Reeves needs it to be; also his american accent probably non-existent... but damn, he would have been the most physical Batman ever!)

I LOVED Darren Criss in American Crime Story but he's a little too.... flamboyant? I'd love him as Joker though

Just say it, dammit... The word you are looking for is "gay", lol (he's straight irl, though).
And look, if he could stand and exude a much more masculine vibe than he's used to (and I'm sure he can as a good actor that he is) for Bruce Wayne, then we'd be good to go. Packing on tens of pounds of muscle mass would help with that too... He's a little too short though, I think (which I personally don't mind, I think Batman can work as a shorter guy who's more of an underdog).

I mean, he's an actor that has mostly gotten gay roles though, Im sure he can come across differently in another role but still, I'd prefer him as the Joker, he was extremely good in that show as a psychopath.

So how many lows do WB hit when they ask for manips of potential actors that are eyed for the role to gauge how good or ridiculous they look in the cowl? Why do you think Cillian Murphy didn't get the Batman role although Nolan loved him so much for it? You know when we talk about a good chin for Batman that pertains to even what kind of shape your lips have, right? And before you laught at this notion, consider how many times you've cringed with fan-made photoshops of many actors in the batsuit and cowl... See, that's what WB definitely doesn't want to happen with the actual guy they'll cast...
Or, another factor is when they assess the sex appeal of their potential male lead to see what kind reaction their female audience would give and thus how successfully they would manage to market the movie to (which could account for tons and tons of money)...
Again, laugh at all these "lows" all you want, but the people in charge of casting this role are aware of these important factors and are acting accordingly.

Lowden is one the most interesting and talented UK actors going, always gives great performance and emotion in his roles, would be a solid choice for me.
