^Bale said he uses the voice ANYTIME he has the mask on because the suit makes him more animalistic. That is why he would use it even with people he knows as Batman. I guess Batman is part method actor ;)

Bale can come back if he loses the stupid voice as batman... why does he use it when talking one on one with alfred or lucious?? Lol

I wouldn't be against him coming back, but I feel his arc is complete, let someone else shine
I don't recall him using it with Alfred. He uses it not only as a disguise but it's transformation he goes through, he's like a beast with the suit on. But the people behind Nolan's batman movies have actually said that it's supposed to be a device. An inner cowl function that goes through the jaw, etc. Even if it's not told in the movies, apparently it's not supposed to be natural.

Also, think about this. Nolan directed Bale and in TDK/TDKR he did work in post production to enhance Batman's voice. So with Snyder directing, I believe he'll either go back to the Batman Begins style of speaking or Zack might even direct Bale to not growl.

His bat voice in BB was so much better. I wish they would have kept it like that throughout the trilogy.

Yeah I'm excited about the idea of Snyder starting a fresh but I'd be lying my ass off if I said that if I heard that Bale, Caine and Hathaway are returning I wouldn't be completely overly utterly ecstatic. I think it would be the first time I'd literally jump for joy.

I think though if Snyder at some point introduces a Catwoman that Hathaway should be considered. Even tough it will obviously contrast with the recent trilogy. She obviously is incredibly passionate about the role and would play it for years I'd rather that than someone who just reads a script and goes "yeah, okay. How much do I get?".

Same as Adams as Lois. She clearly wants to be Lois Lane and would likely do it for years.

I would be happy if Bale came back, but I'd also be happy if they chose someone new who deserves to play the role.

Ditto. Even if Bale did return- which would be awesome- I would want his character and its associations to be a bit different. If nothing else, we would otherwise run into the same problems of a dead Two Face, an unusable Joker etc. And, sorry, but I saw enough of Hathaway's Catwoman in TDKR.

Yeah, but I think WB could almost be moving in a different direction with it's DC properties. Seeing as how a Flash TV series was just announced I wouldn't be at all surprised if what Jett said earlier today was true about a possible "Trinity" film after "Batman/Superman". Perhaps WB isn't going the Marvel route by investing it's money into a bunch of solo properties that may not break even in the first place. It could be taking the one team up film at a time approach by adding a new hero with each movie until a Justice League film is fully formed. This would give Zack and David full control over this universe they've created, not having to cater to what filmmaker A is doing over here with Wonder Woman, while filmmaker B is doing this over here with Aquaman. etc. etc.

If they were to be completely focusing on DC team up movies then the need for seeing Joker and Two-Face again may not even be an issue. Perhaps using Bale is a smart idea is other aspects just because we've seen his Joker and don't need a rebooted version of that character. Now they can focus on other villains that challenge the DC Universe on a much more global scale. Luthor, Brainiac, Darkseid, etc. etc.

I would like the start fresh but I'm more informed than the GA so I understand the reasoning behind direction/casting and what not.

GA think of Bale as Batman. I want this movie do rake in the dough at the BO so if Bale did come back I'd accept it fully.

I'm starting to get major whiplash from this whole Bale thing. Every time I feel like I've made peace with him being done with the role, El May chimes in with something that keeps the rumor alive.

As much as I feel rebooting is ultimately the right thing to do here long term, the fact that this movie is coming so soon off the heels of the trilogy does make me wonder if getting Bale back no matter the cost is the smarter play.

Ugh, feel so torn. I feel there's a lot to be said for quitting while you're ahead, but at the same time there is nobody they can cast that would give this movie the same degree of magnitude that a returning Bale would.

And the idea of Bale playing a different Batman is a bit troubling for me.

Keep Bale and now push the boundaries with more sci-fi villains with these gods/aliens running around; ala Clayface, Mr. Freeze, Solomon Grundy, etc.

It be just like YO going to TLH/DV to everything else. Just because Bale's Batman goes against more fantastical foes doesn't undermine the gangsters and grounded ones previously. Just like Iron Man went from scorned business associate to aliens in under 3 films.

Retconing his retirement won't be too hard... if anything it will make comic-freaks happier. He'll go back to his war, even though I was excited and happy for Bruce to 'be happy'.

Completely true. I feel the day they announce the new Batman will be a weird day on the Hype. Third happy, third annoyed and a third yearning for Bale. A part of me wants a new Batman but another part of me feels that Bale is Batman. I would in no way be upset if I heard he was returning.

I asked this in another thread but what does Bale have on at the moment? I know he just finished American Hustle and Out of the Furnace.

Really not a fan of the Nolan Batman though. So if Bale does come back, it would look weird if they rebooted him as the snyder version.

I'm so conflicted. Bale adds credibility to what seems like a rushed project by WB.

These are the only issues I'd have. It would completely undo the TDKR ending. Absolutely no argument about that whatsoever IMO.

And I loathed the feel of more Supernatural villain in IM3 but the whole of IM3 felt disconnected anyway IMO. But that can work out in MOS2 as Batman could be the first hero the world has ever seen (in the TDK universe) and MOS takes place a few years later where that world has first contact. So that wouldn't bother me too much.

Would love for Christian Bale to return. Have Joseph Gordon Levitt return as Nightwing, Dying in the first 15 minutes prompting Bruce to return as Batman.

He's prepping for Ridley Scott's Exodus with an October start date.

It's just too soon, Bale has been my Batman for 10 years. And, it will take a miracle casting/performance/etc. and while of time for something to change that. Bale, though, does not undermine my childhood love of Keaton...

Plus the fact that Bale is still at a decent age but looks youthful and fit enough to play Batman. It is almost like taking away the actor at his prime of playing the character. In a way, the entire trilogy of Nolan's Batman feels like early stages of what he would ultimately become. We see the first time he deals with Joker, Ras, etc...We did not see him fully come out with his intelligence, just hints throughout different films where he surprises Fox to some extent. Give him a reason to come back and show why he is the DETECTIVE as well as THE BATMAN!

He'll go back to his war, even though I was excited and happy for Bruce to 'be happy'.

What if he never really left his war against crime in the first place, but rather just took it to a new location in another part of the world with Selina at his side. This time however without as much angst and depression.

I think there are more actors that can play Batman than there are for a decent Superman. I honestly can't see anyone better for the part of Superman than Cavill that we know of anyways. Bale coming back would be nice (seems unlikely with separate universe), which is what Latino Review is still suggesting will happen in the end. ElMayimbe is pretty insistent, but we will see.

he also said "world's finest" before it was rumored to be the next dccu film. i think it's a given that wb would want him back, and even after tdkr, he might have been interested in returning, if nolan came back, but nolan's not interested. bale could ask for an rdj type of salary and they'd give it to him.

It's a different Bat symbol. ...Bale's Bruce. .ain't. ..ah **** it :oldrazz:

I don't see why TDKR stops the possibility of Bruce Wayne getting involved. I think that once he sees news of destruction of the city Metropolis he will feel the need to put out a helping hand as he managed to help bring Gotham back. It gives Bruce Wayne a reason to be back in action. It also gives a reason why he would meet with Lex. He will then at some point need to bring his alter ego into the situation, and Batman is back.
