At this stage, I may as well put myself forward. I'm probably a bit short, and have the kind of face that only appears on screen when it's advertising insurance, but I bet I'm a better actor than Armie Hammer.

Besides his Oscar winning 2 Fast 2 Furious, he hasn't done much else. He needs a career resurrection. :o

Seriously?

Abrams doesnt make bad movies, but he never makes great ones either. He makes great 'popcorn' movies imo, movies that you forget about as soon as you step outside the theater. But they were mildly entertaining, with no real big flaws.

Zack Snyder = live rock band thats slightly drunk

JJ Abrams = CD recording

I know which one I'd choose

Ya know who we need in this thread, some Conway Twitty.

So you're saying Snyder doesn't make "popcorn" flicks?

That's crazy, your denial is admirable, though. :p

I'll say Samuel L. Jackson. :o
lol I don't care if Man From U.N.C.L.E gets made. I can just watch Cavill in other things.

My Two Cents: I like Snyder and Abrams, both have their flaws but I like both of them. I'll be watching Star Wars and Superman/Batman. Hooray for liking two things at the same time! :woot:

My Pics from Top to Ones I wouldn't Mind:
1. Matt Bomer
2. Lee Pace
3. Wes Bentley
4. Josh Duhamel
5. James Marsden

:applaud. By other things do you mean 50 shades? :cwink::o

Woah, I dig that Marsen suggestion. He's almost 40 but wow good choice!

For the right price Gosling would put off a break. Only a mad man would turn down Robert Downey Jr Iron Man money. Disney and Warner Brothers might be in a bidding war over him. If thats the case I hope he chooses Batman. I have very low hopes for a Star Wars movie directed by JJ Abrams. But a Batman directed by Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300, Man of Steel)? Now that is interesting.

Watchmen was a team movie the Man of Steel sequel will be a team movie Watchmen was good. I think Snyder will focus on team movie like justice league and the continuity of DC universe.

Snyder makes popcorn movies just as much as Abrams. To me, Star Trek: Into Darkness was just as good as Man Of Steel in that department and in terms of balance. I just enjoy the concept of a Superman reinvention a little more than Star Trek so Ill side with MOS in the end. But both were great.

Man of Steel counts as a popcorn flick IMO.
Yep and Batman/Superman will be one as well. Especially with the 3D that comes with it. Im not saying this to be a snob, but the only comic book movies ive seen that weren't presented like a popcorn movie were TDK trilogy films since they presented audiences with more of a crime/drama vibe.

Abrams/Snyder make popcorn movies. Abrams just has a better track record sometimes.

I wouldn't say Watchmen was a popcorn flick. I really don't think MOS was either.....at least not in the Marvel sense.

I have nothing against Bentley, but has there been any actual news that might connect him with this? Why are some expecting him to be on WB's shortlist?

I don't think anyone necessarily thinks he's on a short list, just that of all the names thrown out here, he looks the part better than anyone else - well to me anyway! I know nothing of his acting abilities, however the fact that Nolan is casting him in Interstellar at least makes me think he can act a bit too, as Nolan only tends to cast decent actors.
As for other actors mentioned... Gosling, great actor - but just not Batman (I can see him as Barry Allen though), Bomer - never heard of the guy before, but his photos make him look too like Henry Cavill for my liking! Sam Witwer... face just a bit too weird, would make a good Joker though! Duhamel, Gylenhall... nah!
Only Fassbender is a viable other candidate, and I feel his playing Magneto may go against him being Bats!

Snyder at least tries to be a bit thoughtful, even if the result feels awkward. It's still popcorn, but salted.

He also does a really good job at balancing out drama and comedy.
