Keaton could STILL do it. And do it convincingly. He's a terrific actor and one of the most underrated, IMO. He has great range.
You do know that people age, right? Let's say they do hire Keaton as Batman, and he is instructed to run 15 yards. He starts running and 10 yards into it, and he's bent over because he's out of breath saying "Wait....a minute......let me catch.......WHEW......my breath....". Then he's directed to jump off of something the height of let's say a kitchen table. The director yells "ACTION!" He jumps and falls down to the ground and exclaims " Damnit! There goes my hip again!" Finally, instead of water or Gatorade in between takes, he asks for his Metamucil.

:woot:

Has Jon Hamm been mentioned a few times? I know he was a favorite during casting of Superman (at least a handful of fan boys wanted him as Supes then there were internet rumors...)

I agree though that there should be a seasoned actor as Batman. Batman needs a RDJ. A home run cast so to speak. Ryan Gosling? God, no... Matt Damon anybody? Bradley Cooper? Is Andrew Lincoln a possibility? He is somebody I can definitely see as Batman.

I will throw in another name, kind of a mid-unknown.

Wes Bentley 34 years old 5'11

He's been posted. I kind of like him, but his nose bothers me for the role personally.

I just thought we've already discussed the hell outta him already lol

Robert Downey Junior? You mean a recovering drug addict who makes the hero (if we can call Iron Man that) into a standup comedian telling corny jokes for 2 hours? How about Charlie Sheen? Although Sheen actually has charisma and IS funny, so that would be an improvement on RDJ.

By god, nobody has mentioned Bentley before!!!!

I think he has a good look. Nice tone to his voice. Young, good height plus he has sort of a dark look to him. He can act though. No doubt about that.

I was being sarcastic. He has been endlessly talked about and I don't care for him so it hasn't been a pleasant time for me.

You took it way out of proportion. An actor with charisma. You know, where you don't envision the person as the actor but the CHARACTER alone. FFS, man.

Well, I haven't been around SHH for a while so I apologize for that. I am just mentioning who ever, lol. So far, based on charisma/acting chops and look. I would go with Patrick Wilson. It's almost like he is in his prime and it's time for a major role.

But RDJ doesn't alter his style often in the characters he plays. For example, he's the same in US Marshals as he is in Iron Man. The Soloist too, completely different character but same delivery. He is RDJ, not Iron Man/Stark. You have to like RDJ in order to like Iron Man, because its a film about RDJ posing as Iron Man, not simply a film about Iron Man. Whereas look at Cavill in The Cold Light Of Day. It is an action role, yet his style of delivery is absolutely opposite to Man Of Steel. RDJ's delivery doesn't vary, whereas.

Sheen wishes he had the charisma and acting talent of RDJ. I thought Iron Man 3 was good but RDJ's endless mugging was easily the worst part of the film.

I still like RDJ but I won't be crying when he hangs up the Iron suit. I may not always like how Wolverine is written but at least I can feel Hugh Jackman's passion for the character, RDJ is just phoning it now in IMHO.

Well, IM3 is the highest grossing solo superhero movie of all-time worldwide. I guess RDJ had nothing to do with that, huh? :whatever: RDJ is the Sean Connery of Iron Man right now. It'll be tough to replace him but that's a good problem to have. What I am getting at is, WB/DC needs to cast someone similar to have that same kind of problem. They need to cast somebody who IS the character and runs with it. That is all I am saying.

I say good luck on Marvel recasting Iron Man. It's not impossible of course but it's going to be extremely hard. RDJ and onscreen Iron Man are one and the same now, it will be like recasting Jack Sparrow IMHO.

It's not impossible. See Man of Steel :D

I think an actor that has a youthful look/vibe would be okay if they were in they're early 40's already but anything older than that is pushing it. (This means my Jeff Donavan dream casting is still plausible by my own standards. Whoo-Hoo!)
