Can I just say I'm not a "fanboy" of either Superman or Batman. I'm a BIG fan of the Nolan trilogy and I really liked MoS but to me this whole $50mill thing (even its false) does to me look like its WB saying "oh pleeeeaaassseeee come back please please please we'll give you $50 million!". Yes it may be a business and getting Bale's name is a quick guarantee to a Billion but in the long run it'll kick em in the ass as there is no way Bale will stick around for the next 4/5 years or so.

I agree that it is smart from a business view but it does also seem desperate unless they started from a smaller figure and went up. But I think we are also kidding ourselves if Warner doesn't want to make a good comic book film, of course they do. No one will want to see a sequel to a bad comic book film. Imagine if Iron Man 1 sucked?

Here’s what Cranston had to say about it while speaking with Metro:

“Give me a call.

“I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man.”

If this quote gets to WB and they don't act on it...

I mean I've never been all for Cranston as Lex (I'm not opposed I just didn't jump straight in like "WOW he'd be perfect!) but when an opportunity like this slaps you in the face surely you should take it.

Offering Bale a ton of cash to reprise his role makes WB look like smart. It has nothing to do with lack of faith and everything to do with money. WB are in the movie BUSINESS afterall. Fanboys need to stop this romantic notion that studios care about anything other than money or that they should when it comes to these glorified live action cartoons.

But you would say that we have the right to complain about/dislike a film, right? I don't mind the business as long as the movies are good

I'm starting to come around to Alaxander Skarsgard, but I'm prepared for a whole lot of derping over the fact that he's taller than Cavill.

Fine. Rupert Grint. His career is already on the decline anyways. :o

You were in one of the biggest franchises of all time and now you're doing smaller movies? Your career is FAILING!!!!

:o

I don't care anymore if Bats was taller than Superman, as matter of fact I think it would kinda funny if you had this tall intimidating Batman and yet he can be easily owned by Superman.

As you are aware I do not run Superhero Hype, you and anyone else can complain about whatever the **** you want to.

I'm not going to review Superman/Batman until I see it though. That's just silly ole me though.

Your post reads like it was written by some snippy highschool mean girl and I find that hilarious.

Just curious about your general stance. Not necessarily discussing this particular film.

So you are seriously asking if I believe that people have a right to voice their opinions? If you doubt that I do, I feel very sorry for you.

I don't doubt that. Some people do talk about business a lot though when discussing these films and people's opinions. I will PM you so we don't go off track.

I didn't word my posts well at all. I was attempting to start a wider discussion about the film business and fandom and how we as fans should approach things in regards to art vs business vs personal opinion and whatnot.

That's if Lex is even in the film...

But, other than that I think he'd make a good Jim Gordon.
