Really, there is only one obvious choice for this part:

Yes , but a lot those with good looks are also very good actors .
Adkins is a Stuntman/Martial artist.
He is not qualified to be Batman and he will NOT be cast in the role.
I am not discussing with you that he will cast the role or not. I am just saying that he's an actor, and that he played in a lot of movies, He's more than just a stunt man. And don't call him a meat heat, that just says more about you than him

I don't understand the idea that the general entitlement to an opinion means that no opinion may be criticized.

Oh well.
I don't either. And not all opinions are equal because some are uninformed. When I say I disagree with someone about a film, it's not meant as a personal insult...unless I call you dumb for liking a film. I admit that is obviously a personal insult that I mostly only use when I am frustrated and I am not proud of that fact.

What does it say about Mysteryman, exactly?

I think you've been clear about that in the past and most people understand that. It's just every now and then you get someone who doesn't know everyone here and is extra-sensitive/defensive about their opinions and take it personally if anyone is critical of them. That's sadly unavoidable, especially in a thread like this when everyone has their "horse" that they are rooting for, lol.

You would actually make me enjoy Superman punching Batman.

I LOVE Batman, and it would actually satisfy me to see him get thrown a few feet and have to catch his fall or Superman grabbing him in midair.

That being said, I REALLY doubt that Snyder would cast Lebeouf. WB MIGHT be more likely, but Snyder cares more about his lead actors.

I have never wanted an actor for a role because they are hot. At best I've jokingly inferred that. I think that Orlando Bloom is hot but I still think that he is wrong for Batman.

Personally I just see Adkins as wrong for Batman and it seems to me that most of his supporters think that we are fancasting 300 Part 3 instead of MOS 2.

You are probably right. Maybe I shouldn't get so mad about being accused of only caring about box office numbers and the entitled to your opinion deal.

I am A-Okay with people dissing my Batman choices. I think it's fun and if you can't stand people dissing your choices than get the hell out of here.

Bingo. People need thicker skin in this place, haha.

I apologise for my posts that did come off as accusing. SPIDEY and I have been on friendly terms before and I do enjoy her posts. I was hoping to start a discussion on business and film and fandom. I did a poor job of it to say the least. I apologise to I SEE SPIDEY for my terrible posts.

Are we all still going on the rumor from BOF that they're going with an older Batman? Wasn't it Snyder himself that said that Superman is the first hero in this universe and it paves the way for other heroes to start announcing themselves to the public? I would think, in that, we'd have a similarly aged Bruce in comparison to Cavill. Also, as someone pointed out, this will be the beginning of a long contract. Would it be possible to maybe make someone look older and go with a younger actor? Not saying he's my pick, but what about Liam Hemsworth? At least its a new name for debate.

Just because Bruce just started being Batman does not mean he is young.

All the signs are pointing towards an older Batman. BOF says so, THR says so, the quote Snyder read is from TDKR which features an older Batman.

I'm down with a younger Batman (30-35) no guys in their twenties tho

I see no problems with casting an actor in his 20s as Batman. Cavill was in his 20s when they shot MOS.

I'm honestly not so sure about whether WB wanting an older Batman is true. It might be something WB is considering, but it can't be set in stone if they are truly considering guys like Gosling, Goode, Manginiello and Bloom. Even Armitage could probably pass for a guy in his mid-late 30s. Brolin and Martini are the only rumored actors that look older.

I also don't see why WB is supposedly so enamored with Brolin. Sure, he's a good actor, but he's far from a box office draw (Jonah Hex, Gangster Squad, W). Of course, Men in Black 3 did well but that was the third film in an established series that also happened to feature a megastar (Will Smith).

Will Smith for Batman.

Its a sequel to MOS. The press notes confirm it.

This will deal with the events of MOS. I really really really hope the address the catastrophic almost nuclear damage that happened at the close of the last film - like literally the city was flattened.

I hope to god they don't gloss over it and address it.

Though what does everyone think about the Daily Planet office being intact? Did it escape the destruction?

Actually, it was only part of the downtown core that was flattened. Quite possibly no residential buildings were destroyed. It seemed mainly office buildings. Still disruptive, but more on the level of 9/11 than WWII bombing of London.

So what office did Clark join? Was it a make shift one?

Well, they did not specify time frames, so maybe it was rebuilt. Especially if SM helped with the rebuilding. On the other hand, it might be the new office, since the publisher is not willing to deal with having a temporary office for the 12 years of rebuilding.

I'm convinced that anyone that wants Scott Adkins for Batman is not a fan of Batman. How could you want that for the character?

He's a glorified stuntman/martial artist. Not an actor. He may act, but he's predominately a stuntman/martial artist.

Seriously... we've had some incredible actors for Batman, in fact all of them have been great actors (Clooney just got a ****** script). Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney, Bale.........Scott Adkins? He's just so out of place, I'm not seeing it at all.

He doesn't even look like Batman either. I have no idea where this support is coming from...

How people could want a mediocre actor who only excels at stunts and martial arts as Batman is beyond me.

I want someone who is a proven actor first and foremost. The second most important aspect of casting Batman is how much the guy looks like Bruce Wayne. Scott Adkins has neither of those things.

He is a kick ass martial artist and stuntman but an actor he is not, I would not trust the fate of the Batman franchise with him. No ****ing way.

Other than one or two more incensed posts after some back and forth with other people, I don't see any blatant race baiting in his posts. Just a differing opinion.

Edit: Honestly, looking back through the thread you're the only one that seems to be throwing the term around.

Evidently thinking outside the box on casting is now a form of "race baiting".

I on the other hand really wish we could see total color blind casting. Maybe I will live until the day we actually get it, but I have my doubts.

I think enough of the general public is aware of Batman's backstory to not have to delve too deeply into it. Maybe a few snippets of information here and there could work to indicate what direction Goyer is taking with it, but I don't think the movie needs to devote any real chunk of time to it.

But aren't there multiple back stories of Batman?

I see no problems with casting an actor in his 20s as Batman. Cavill was in his 20s when they shot MOS.

I personally like the idea of Batman being older is all.. Just a preference. I think their dynamic works best that way

I fifth the nomination of Noomi for Batman. :D

Just need to say what I think of Joe Manganiello. I know there's a lot of haters who all say he isn't a great actor.

I know he's very tall but the right camera angles and framing won't show that he's too big.

He's more Wolverine-like because his current role requires it. I think he can do a complete 180 turn from his werewolf character and become a Bruce Wayne. He'd have to work on being a complete opposite of his role on True Blood as a truck driving construction contractor to the point that he'd be unrecognizable as a billionaire.

But yeah, he's no Hugh Jackman, who can go from rough looking to clean cut and do a song and dance number. But I see the potential for Joe to be able to look completely different from what we've seen from him and act more refined.

He is not my first pick, I prefer Jon Hamm. But with Manganiello what I see is a guy who I can believe is "crazy" enough to put on a Bat costume to scare and beat up criminals. (I guess that's the bully looking side of him, that's why he was a good Flash Thomson)

He's just got to put the same amount of focus and intensity on his acting as he does his work outs. With the right script and director for him to work on his acting, he could surprise us all that he might be good for the role.

Hey guys check me out on Instagram! @epiccomicpics
I casted the entire Justice League + Joker and Harley for Bonuses! Anyway, here were my opinions :)

Superman: Henry Cavill

1070086_163962620457649_205214517_n.jpg

I'm starting off with an actor who will 100% portray our Man of Steel: Henry Cavill. Boy was he a great choice for Superman. I didn't like the movie Man of Steel that much (as I've made clear in some of my earlier posts) but I could not deny that Cavill's Superman looked like he'd been ripped right off of the comic book pages. I kept saying to myself throughout the movie, "Dang... that really is Superman." Shout-out to the casting director who made an excellent choice because Cavill is perfect.

Batman: Ryan Gosling

Yes folks, I chose Ryan Gosling for our Batman. Let me tell you why. First of all, he definitely has the acting chops to pull off a dark brooding character. Watch the movie DRIVE if you haven't seen it already. It really displays his ability to portray a darker personality. I know that some of you are saying really? Gosling? The guy from the Notebook and all those chick flicks? Give him a chance folks because as far as acting goes, he's top tier. As far as appearance, he can definitely be transformed to look more like Bruce Wayne as you can see in two of the pics above. When he's sporting nice suits along with the darker hair, I can definitely see Bruce. Seeing Gosling and Cavill interact on the big screen would be awesome as well. Runners up were Wes Bentley and Arnie Hammer. I didn't choose Hammer because yes I feel he can pull off the Bruce Wayne side, but Batman is a whole different persona. He has too much of a baby face for me (For Batman at least). I passed on Bentley because I can't get over the "creep" vibe. He gets type casted in these roles because he literally has that creeper look. His roles in American Beauty, Rules of Attraction, and even Blackheart in Ghost Rider just ruin it for me. Anyways, there's my Batman.

Wonder Woman: Taylor Cole

1069384_164101040443807_1555004076_n.jpg

I've decided to go with an UNKNOWN to take on Wonder Woman. Of course Kate Beckinsale and Angelina Jolie are the more popular choices but let me introduce you to Taylor Cole if you don't know her already. Standing a tall 5'9, she's guest starred in many shows such as CSI Miami, Numb3rs, and Heroes. She's also been in the movie 12 rounds. I've watched countless interviews with her and she just screams Diana to me. Just look at her! She's STUNNING, BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUS, and whatever synonym you want to throw out there. She definitely looks the part with her defined high cheek bones and slender body. Yes we don't want to have a bulky Wonder Woman because WW doesn't NEED to look big. She pulls her strength from being an Amazonian from her home Themyscira. This was probably the hardest member to cast.

Green Lantern: Hal Jordan: Bradley Cooper

Did you know that Bradley Cooper actually auditioned for Green Lantern? He made the final two but the "geniuses" at the studio went with Reynolds over him. In a way I'm GLAD they did because anyone would have failed with that trash script. Reynolds was always better suited for The Flash. NOT GREEN LANTERN. My Hal Jordan is Bradley Cooper. Such a talented actor. Some of the movies I enjoyed him a lot in are Silver Linings, Limitless, and even playing that *****ebag in one of my favorite movies, Wedding Crashers. If you've read the comics you know that Hal's personality fits Bradley Cooper's persona to a T. Classy, witty, intelligent, funny, but can be as serious as anyone. Many of you are going to say why not John Stewart? It has to be Hal, sorry guys. Hal is the most popular of the human lanterns and we need all the recognition we can get when it comes to putting butts in the seats.

The Flash: Barry Allen/Wally West: Chris Pine

47392_164106323776612_1009269740_n.jpg

Who's going to play our sarcastic speedster? Chris Pine would be perfect for Wally or Barry. If you've watched the Star Trek movies you know that Pine would be able to pull off the sarcastic playful persona of a Wally West. Not to mention the baby blue eyes share a striking resemblance. Having Pine and Cooper as our Green Lantern and Flash would be down right amazing. I can see them feeding off one another. Pine being the more immature comedic effect with Cooper being the more righteous moral compass. Pine, Cooper, Gosling, and Cavill present so much eye candy for the ladies. That's who we need to target! We don't have to target this movie for the Kevin Smith's of the world because they are going to watch the movie regardless of who's casted! But SOME of the ladies will go just for the eye candy. I'm not generalizing this to all of you women because there are TONS of you who actually read the comics and avid superhero lovers.

Aquaman: Arnie Hammer

1012868_164111367109441_1469372574_n.jpg

(I made this selection before Arnie Hammer went and bashed the whole comic book/superhero movie industry.) I think Arnie Hammer is more suited to play Aquaman than Batman. He's got that long, broad shouldered, swimmers build. He has shown he can play a rich self-righteous prick (The Social Network). That is essentially what Aquaman is. He's a King, King of Atlantis. I think Hammer would make a badass Aquaman.

Martian Manhunter: Djumon Hounsou

954638_164327390421172_991934999_n.jpg

Meet my Martian Manhunter: Djimon Hounsou. Him and Idris Elba were in my top two when I was deciding who to cast. Why didn't I go with Elba? He's my John Stewart. Djimon Hounsou is a well known actor but is most remembered for his role in Gladiator with Russell Crowe. He's pretty old but doesn't look a day past 35. Why choose him? He's just a great actor who would be able to pull off the character of Jon Jones as well as VOICE the Manhunter. The Manhunter voice (in my head anyway) derives from the Justice League Animated Series. He's got that deep voice with a bit of an accent and talks pretty slowly. DJ could definitely pull this part off.
