From all the "realistic" choices, Wes Bentley seems to be one step ahead just because of Nolan's recommendation. So i guess we are on a good-y path.

Like the great Bob Ross would say : We don't make mistakes, we just have happy accidents. No pressure !

Wes Bentley is not Nolan's recommendation. That's just a rumour created by CosmicBookNews.

Good choice, though.

Why is Bentley a good choice?

Ghost Rider scarred me for life...especially against him :o

^ i think that armitage is an accent away from the role, while bentley is an action role away from batman. Urban's nailed the accent and can do action oriented roles, but i feel like his wayne would feel off somehow. Don't ask me why.

Jim caveziel would probably do a really good bruce and batman, and i feel like hamm would do the most organic job of coming across as sophisticated. Hamm looks a bit older than he is, though. He's only several months older than armitage.

In a perfect world, fassbender would be available.

But we don't live in a perfect world.

So let's settle for someone who looks the part, has a deep voice, can do action, can be sympathetic, and can pass for younger if the script calls for it.

And so..

GR was filmed in 2006. Within the span of 7 years, a lot can change. With Cavill, for instance, I don't think he would have been a good fit for Superman back then. These days, however, it's a completely different story.

I don't like Armitage at all.

I am starting to like Bentley though. Is the Chris Nolan thing true though?

There is zero proof that that Nolan loves Bentley thing is true. That website is run by morons who get their info from a thawed out caveman who is still afraid of fire.

Their "source" is their imagination. For me, it's a tossup between Armitage/Bentley, though I'm leaning toward the former.

Nose, age, MAYBE lips. So far his American accent has been lacking (will wait for Black Sky trailer to really judge). Will be 43 by the time WF/Superman Batman hits.

On the other hand, his face has a vibrant quality that would allow him to play Batman for several years, I think.

Otherwise, I say go for it. He looks like Bruce, he looks good in guyliner, he has a deep voice, he does action well, he can look rugged yet clean up nicely, it'll probably be easy for him to turn on the smiley Wayne persona, and playing dark, brooding characters is one of his things. AND he's a nice guy without the public baggage of say, Josh Brolin.

And who doesn't want to see his eyes under that mask?

He'll probably be able to sort the accent out.

But other than that, he is pretty perfect for the role.

Richard Armitage would just have to work on the accent like Cavill, have a little competition there on whose is better.

About his age, he'd be the same age Robert Downey was in the first Iron Man by the time of his first Batman role. So that makes him good for at least 2 more films, maybe even a total of 4 movies as Batman would be all right, then he can retire from the role.

If the acting is good I won't care about the wonky generic American accent. I do like it when actors at least try to do it well but if the actor is on fire I'm not going to ***** too much.

I wish Warners and Snyder would choose someone already and tell us who it is so that I can whine about the choice for months, then get use to the actor then get convinced once I see him in costume and during the trailer.

I say he has about 6 movies in him, since he looks younger and is in good physical condition.

Armitage seems to be aging pretty well so far. I worry less about him than some of the other suggested actors in their forties.
