Batman Confidential thread

My copy said 3 of 8. Does that mean this arc is 8 issues long, or are they putting this bitc# to bed after only 8 issues?

Batman Confidential has (thankfully) been cancelled. Now... bring back Legends!

Where does it say that? And Legends is not comming back.

I like BC, quite a bit. It's no Dini or Morrison but it's no All Star Miller either.....

It would piss me off beyond all imagination if they canceled LOTDK for Confidential, only to cancel Confidential after 8 issues. Bastards.

That's basically what I was thinking as well.

Good grief. :(

I don't get it. Batman Confidential is almost the same as LOTDK.

Not really. LOTDK was (for the most part) out-of-continuity Batman tales. Kinda of a what-if, no-hold-barred type thing. Confidential is in-continuity, just not in chronological order with the rest of the Bat-books. Stories about Batman's early, formative years.

Man this sucks, one of my favourite series ever and now they've replaced it with: "Batman Confidential".
If only Tim Sale was on both Confidential atleast that would make the transition bareable.

This book still has soo much potential, shame they had to let it go.

I knew that :whatever:

Yes, it's basically the same series. They changed the title and reverted to the early concept of Legends.

And kicked of with one the worst artists ever.
I mean the art is really really bad and the writing is all over the place. This is supposed to be an early Batman story, what is he doing with all that super high tech (2020) stuff?

i may be in the minority here, but i like BC. however it doesnt strike me to be anything about his formative years, more like present day.

but i agree about the artwork. its terrible.

I like BC myself and the artwork isn't necessarily terrible; I'd say more like it's "strained"?

I do hope that the stories pick up abit more but if the mag is getting cancelled, what the heck... :whatever:

Anyone still reading this? #5 was pretty sucktastic. IGN got it right when they said it takes only 2 minutes to read, and you still feel like you've wasted precious time of your life.

The only thing cool about this series was the cover to #3.

5 was horrific, IGN is on the money with 2 minutes.
And waht's with all the pin-ups, and weird Robo talk...

my problem with this title isnt the art, although it is very inconsistent...my problem is the writing...it's so simplistic that it's almost disgusting, and I really, really dont trust this guy to write the new joker origin at this point

LOTDK was in continuity. they were a depiction of the earlier years, but definitely in canon.

I just read #9 myself and I am loving BC. In fact, it's my favorite Batbook since Batman is off with the 'Batman of All Nations' and Detective is just finishing up that boring Scarecrow story.

I also must say that "Lovers and Madmen" seems to be a loose adaptation of what we have been hearing about during the filming of 'The Dark Knight' film. Very weird "coincidence?"

<cough>black-suit spidey<cough>

Yeah. That's my only bitc# with this 'new' Joker origin.
