Batman Forever

I didn't get huffy puffy, there's nothing in any of my posts to suggest I was mad. Btw, that's a pretty dumb thing to say. You don't know every middle school student in the world so you can't say none of them have jobs or any kind of money.

Btw, I seriously doubt that you're the only college senior working at 8 am, what a stupid comment to make.

Everyone chill out. Nobodies stupid, and if a Mod catches you talking like that you can get banned. Just everyone chill, The Joker 1000 is in middle school and doesn't have cash, BatmanForNever is a senior and works weekend, we've all got stories people.

Percisely, I agree completely. It's just a common fact that young middle school children do not work thus if you have no job you have no money to buy what you want.

But umm, what was the topic again?:woot:

1. I did not call him stupid, I said the comment he made was stupid/idiotic.

2. There are a lot of middle school students who I know that do some kind of work to make money whether it's a summer job, babysitting, etc. so it was a very idiotic comment to make on your part.

I don't see how a middle school student gets off on calling an adult idiotic, but please learn some respect for your elders.

I realize you guys have chores, I've been there and done that, but let's be realistic here. The money and "job" a middle school student has isn't a real job. It's cutting the grass or shoveling snow to make a few bucks. But I don't see what the point of all this is? I tried helping you by suggesting a payment method and site where you could get Batman DVDs for a good price (still on topic). You then went off on me for doing so because I just "Didn't understand!" Perhaps if you said but I can't get them because I'm a kid and can't buy things online with a few bills in my pocket, I would have understood you.

I'm done with this, you can keep arguing with yourself about this situation.

I never went off, I'm just pointing out how wrong you are. I refuse to respect anyone who has a lack of knowledge of what they're talking about but I'm done with this as well as I've proven my point.

How wrong am I again?

I have no lack of knowledge on your position nor subject matter, I've been your age, I've done that, I've been there. Your point is null my little friend.

Anyways...

BF is definitely the better of the Schumacher movies, but it's not without its faults.

I really liked Chris O'Donnell, especially in the Nightwing suit which was a nice comic nod. He was better than Clooney at least.

I likeed O' Donnell, too, he's a bit of a charisma sucker, though.

My main biff with BF (get it?) was that, unlike B&R, it didn't know what it was. At times, it had the right amount of darkness and seriousness and then it killed that with the villains. Then again, seriousness.

That's why I mostly like B&R more. It had a tone, it knew what it was and I knew what I was watching.

Well what I like about BF is what I guess you hate about it. It had a perfect balance of dark and light. Where as the Burton films were too dark and whimsical and B&R was too campy and cheesy.

Batman Forever perfected both and made a great movie because of it.

See, therein lies the problem EXACTLY. I thought those 2 themes were not balanced at all, just edited together. One scene dark, another light, one scene serious, the other campy, like a sequence
B89, BR, BB, they all had moments to break the tension (and succeeded most of the times), and they kept this balance you speak of. But BF? It was a mess on that front, imo.

I agree, and if you want to break it down broadly, all the stuff with Bruce, Dick and Chase was serious, and the stuff with the bad guys was silly. Two0Face only seemed like a threat in his first scene, and the Riddler only seemed like a threat in his last scene.

I agree with that sentiment, there was really good stuff in there, particuarly the Batman and Robin stuff when they were arguing about being partners and how Robin wanted revenge.

Then Two-Face turned up with a leopard print suit on. I dunno, it's almost like two different movies edited together.

Yes, that's the problem with Batman Forever. It's a mess. It's not as bad as Batman & Robin or anything, but it's just a mess, which makes it mediocre.

BF had some real potential. I don't own the DVD but I do have an old VHS copy somewhere. Oh, how I re-watched the last 10 minutes back when I was 7....

The last 10 minutes?

Would that be, by any chance, the time when you get a quick flash of Nicole Kidman's bum?

Yes! although that was not the only reason. I liked the Sonar suit, and loved to se Jim Carrey screaming like a wild animal. Also, obviously, there's the whole sequence where Bats has to **choose** between being Bruce Wayne and Batman by catching Chase or Robin, and he catches both, and then bam! Two Face somehow was able to get to that pipe and Bats makes him die, then he goes back to Nygma and tells him the obvious, and more screaming ensues. :applaud

I can do WAY more than "appreciate" Batman Forver (favorite movie =]) and B&R isn't crap! Sure...its not...amazing...BUT STILL! Its a pretty good movie :batman:
You must've seen a different B&R than me. The one I remember was basically a two-hour toy commercial. For God sake's, Freeze wore polar bear slippers and forced his henchmen to sing "I'm Mr. White Christmas". Not to mention how they ruined Bane (he could only say his name. He was basically the pokemon who never made it), the Batman credit-card, and Ahnold's constant freeze-related puns. "Ha, ha... COPsicle."

The novelization was WAAAAYY better.

Well not in terms with scenes or something, just in general I think it's dark and light, and both haunting and quirky. The villains for me were more insane...

That's exactly what I think about Forever, is not perfect, far from it but I do believe the movie in general is still dark and weird in its own way..I can't say the same about B&R tough, totally dislike that one..

If you read a few posts down I repostioned my stance on B&R. I admitted it was a crappy movie, but I still liked it. But it is my least favorite. BF shall forever be my favorite...that is...until I see Dark Knight. Maybe I'll have a new one. But I doubt it.

I agree, the last act of BF is it's strong point, the villians drop everything and just want to kill people. Like when Robin saves Two-Face and he still draws a gun on him. Brilliant.

I didn't see that. Sorry.:o

I've always liked Batman Forever, too. not THAT much, but still.
a lot of people complain about Robin in the movie.
I don't get what's wrong with him...he was pretty good.
