Care to elaborate?

Too bad this theory is incorrect.Umm...no. That was an out of continuity story for Batman Black and White.
Anyway, I think everyone's overlooking Batman #666 and dismissing it just because it's so far fetched, but I think 666 is the ending of RIP. Once again, just a theory. But Grant Morrison's run has been so ****ing crazy, anything's possible. Damian was obviously brought into the mythos for something.
There's Batman dead, lying in the street (cause unknown). Damian takes the mantle. And there's the new suit everyone's been dying to see.
Bruce Wayne DOESN'T die.Grant Morrison said:Opening the door with superheroes always find clever ways of getting out of trouble, CBR News asked Morrison to clarify, one more time, if his story is definitely the end of Bruce Waynes run as Batman.
Yes, he said. But like I say, its so much better than death. People have killed characters in the past but to me, that kind of ends the story! I like to keep the story twisting and turning. So what I am doing is a fate worse than death. Things that no one would expect to happen to these guys at all.
I couldn't say it any better myself.Yeah, I'm not either. This isn't a character like The Flash, or Green Lantern, where you can put anyone behind the mask without a definitive person's legacy as the standard to live by. Kyle Rayner outdid Hal Jordan. Wally West outdid Barry Allen. But Bruce Wayne's been the absolute Batman since the beginning, and whenever someone else stepped it, be it Jean-Paul Valley or Dick Grayson, they've failed to live up to Bruce's example. No one else has the training, the wealth, the determination, or the will to carry on his war, and Bruce himself would never abandon it until he felt it was finished.
Honestly, this just reeks of crap. There are alot of different, more creative things they could do that is potentially an 'event' in the Batman mythos, but what they're choosing is outright absurd, from what I've seen.

Sure, it seems a little more realtistic than tights and a cape, but it looks out of place to me. I guess I'm so used to the original version that this one seems overboard in comparison.
What are you thoughts IRON Lad?
Gotta disagree with you there my friend.
Agreed. If that were true, Rayner wouldnt be playing second fiddle right now. It took Hal's return to reignite the GL franchise.
Anyone know how long or how many issues RIP will be. It's solicited thru July (part 4) but nothing after that. Is that the end or is there more?
Wow, I can just get the main story in BATMAN though, right? It's not like Ra's Al Ghoul where you had to buy all the books for the full story? I don't really care about Nightwing, Robin or the Outsiders.

Then, The Joker makes his stand, challenging the Dark Knight to the ultimate battle of wits. Will Batman survive either of these threats or could this be the end of Gotham Citys greatest hero?
Retailers please note: This issue will ship with two covers. For every 25 copies of the Standard Edition (with a cover by Alex Ross), retailers may order one copy of the Variant Edition (with a cover by Tony Daniel). Please see the Previews Order Form for more information.
