Batman R.I.P.

Thought of something after reading about Alex Ross' involvement with the redesign of the costume. Just a random idea that's probably wrong but I was thinking about Batman in Kingdom Come and remembered how Bruce Wayne no longer existed and that he was Batman fulltime 24/7 even when he wasn't in costume and that it's already part of the plot of RIP that someone knows his identity. Just had me thinking if it's the end of Bruce Wayne similar to how he ceased to be in Kingdom Come.

Yeah a Batman who takes total control of the city would be interesting. I think there's defienitly going to be an aspect that Bruce has being wasting his time, focusing on the small stuff when he could've been making a larger difference to the entire world without using his fists or his toys, just his resources, connections, intelligence and determination. He should be like an anti-Luthor. Batman would just be the title-of-office from now on, for a guy who sits in a room calling the shots, and maybe sending out his knights to make sure they are followed.

I like that thought.

A lot.

I never want Batman to be the Batman of Kingdom Come....ever.

I hate it when identities go public, despise it really. I would honestly rather have them completely kill off Bruce Wayne and never bring him back before doing something like that.

I do like the idea of the Joker saving Batman's life though, I always thought of the Joker being oddly protective of Batman anyway.

As great as Kingdom Come is, I wouldn't want to see that version of Batman in the regular DC Earth. Likewise The Dark Knight Returns (but even morseo).

I would hate to see Bruce Wayne killed off in my lifetime and I am only 39. The poor guy has been around since 1939 so why can't he continue to go on without further molestation to his character.

It would be interesting to see Joker save Batman but does he still have that motivation? His "love/hate affair" with Batman has gone back and forth for years (depending on who is the writer or editor). Either he wants to kill Batman outright or he just wants to taunt him with alot of chaos and destruction but keep him alive.

Why am i worried this could turn out to be something cliché where that black girl with red hair turns out to be Black Glove. :(

Didn't Morrison say someplace that the Black Glove's identity would be one of the greatest reveals in comic history?

If that's the case then my guess is Alfred. And I don't even know if I'm kidding.

Like I said, I highly doubt Bruce Wayne will be killed off, it would be too obvious and really unfulfilling.

I'm saying the Joker saves him because he wants to be the one to defeat him and he wants that pleasure for himself and himself only. He doesn't want anyone else to do so because he believes he should be the one to bring down Batman.

I agree that the Black Glove bringing the Joker to "sit in" on this is going to end up as a mistake for them. He's stated several times he wants to decided when and how Batman, or he himself dies, by the others hand, in an epic confrontation. So I think he may take a bit of offense to these upstart foriegners trying to take that away from him with their little games.

Also, the new issue was incredibly meh.

Alfred may or may not be an actor, pretending to be a faithful butler to get out of a rap for some crimes. Martha Wayne may or may not have been a junkie ****e. Thomas Wayne may or may not be dead. Bruce may or may not he himself be The Black Glove. Oh, and the league of villains breaks into the batcave, kidnaps Bruce (and possibly Jezebel) and looks like they might beat Alfred to death.

Haha you got me really curious now, thanks for telling! :P

Oh, and Bruce may or may not be the bastard child of Martha and Alfred. And Thomas may or may not have had Martha killed before faking his own death.

You must be joking.

So just to refresh what issues are out right now that cover this arc besides Batman 676?

He is.

No one really knows what is going to happen, the only people that know are the DC staff.

No, I'm not. I can post scans of the pages where they talk about all of that in the issue if you want.

Coming right up. Give me about 2 minutes.

Batman #677, came out today.

Wait they broke into the Batcave? How? So they know Bruce is Batman?

The issue was delayed until tomorrow here because of the holiday.

Yes, they know Bruce is Batman. That's why I somehow doubt that reporter guys stories. Seems to me that they're not only trying to torture and kill Batman, but destroy Bruce Wayne in the eye of the public while they're at it. Although at this point, I think Morrison is insane enough to have Thomas Wayne be the Black Glove, still alive, coked up, and having put a hit out on his junkie, cheating wife who had a bastard son with the butler, and then faked his own death.
