Batman will return in 2019!

It's a possibility that he'll sign onto a fourth before he turns 50, if it's a limited role. I can see that happening. Either a Batman Beyond (tons of makeup but supporting character) or a second/final Justice League where he works as more of a Nick Fury type.

I'd love to see a badass, true-to-comic Riddler and/or Penguin. I think neither of them have seen their full potential on screen.

Hey... maybe we're actually looking at a Batman Beyond film...

Someone on another thread mentioned a Batman Incorporated possibility. That would RULE.

if we only get one Batman solo, it'll be a definitive Joker/Batman movie.

I think it would be great to get a film where Bats and Joker have actually known each other for years. I always thought that to be one of the best things about the Arkham games. The idea that these two have been going at it for years. A real sense of history behind their "relationship". I wouldn't mind getting something like that on the big screen.

I love The Joker as anyone but I would like to see other villains get to shine. Burton/Nolan did very good jobs with the Joker.

Good! That's a nice gap between The Dark Knight Rises so it would have been 7 years since by the time this new Batman movie comes out it will feel fresh

I like they way the are slowly bringing through Batman as a guest character in these future DC movies i.e Batman vs Superman they easy could have made another Batman movie around 2015

Creating an older Batman for these new films was a bright move after Nolan's series had already introduced us to a young Bats and his relationship with villains like Joker and Scarecrow.

But now that we're dealing with a Batman into his years, let's see the Joker as a supporting character in a wider story. Something that might include more than just a standoff between Bats and any one rogue.

I’m not that interested in seeing another Batman solo film in the near future. If WB does pursue this, I am dramatically opposed to seeing another Nolan Dark Knight series retread. We’ve seen it, they told the stories that Nolan wanted to tell, but there’s no need to revisit. If they want to explore some different thematic territory, then I have this to offer:

#1- We need to see Robin. The real Robin. Not a grown-up cop with Robin as his (unused) real name. This would be a great way to correct the mistakes of the Shumaker movies. This Robin should be a capable companion to his senior partner, but independent enough to be part of his own crew, a.k.a. the Teen Titans. Same goes for Batgirl.

#2- Get out of Gotham. I realize this is blasphemous for some; “Gotham is a character!” No, it’s not. It’s a city. Crime and crises happen elsewhere too; Batman could get involved in a global mystery.

#3- Use new villains. Instead of being hung up on whether a new actor can top Ledger’s performance as the Joker, why not adapt characters not seen in live-action yet? Start with the Morrison-era bad guys. Out of the “classic” rogues’ gallery, maybe there’s been enough time past to for an updated Riddler, but we still haven’t seen Man-Bat or Clayface. Also, Anarky comes to mind as a minor threat.

I am happy about this but am so hoping for Black Mask as the main villain or hush

If we will only get one Batman solo for Ben Affleck, then I hope the villain is someone we haven't seen in the Dark Knight trilogy like the Riddler or the Penguin.

An Affleck 'single' stand alone would make sense, if so, adapt the Killing Joke or a definitive Joker origin in flashback with the Red Hood and as others are suggesting, have them been in conflict for years.

If we're doing an older Batman then there are two things that I want to see.

1. Nightwing

2. An adaptation of Hush.

5 damn years away. I like following these things but damn that's taking it a bit far.

Yeah, it's actually 6 years away. Most likely. They wouldn't release a new Batman the same year as a Justice League.

So hell yeah it's far off. People always say that 5 years just flies by. I disagree. Six years ago The Dark Knight came out. I was barely the same person lol. That's why im gonna stop trying to think about the next Batman movie, or some sequel to a Justice League that hasn't even happened yet. Even thinking about the upcoming Infinity Wars with Thanos gives me a headache.

Time to enjoy what's happening in the next few years tops with Batman. I won't allow myself to think past the first Justice League. Even that is a bit much since we don't know who the villains are for that or anything. We dont even know if we're going to like the new Wonder Woman yet we're all trying to map out stories for the next several years.

It'll be before 2020, they said it would. They have it in mind, they're just no sure when it'll be released and with all these planned release dates of other movies, I don't know where it could fit.

It'll be 2020 I reckon, if they said so...but I wouldn't hold my breath. They might shift it forward if Affleck is well received, but who knows?

Did they? I forget. I dont think they can though. 2020 sounds accurate.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice - March 25th, 2016
Suicide Squad - August 5th, 2016
Wonder Woman - June 23rd, 2017
Justice League - November 17th, 2017
The Flash - March 23rd, 2018
Aquaman - July 27th, 2018
Shazam - April 5th, 2019
Justice League 2 - June 14th, 2019
Cyborg - April 3rd, 2020
Green Lantern - June 19th, 2020

So where they gonna release solo Affleck Batman film then? I will see those releases but I want a solo Bat film too.

Anywhere between November 2020 and July 2021 would be my guess. I'd bet on November 2020. It's a long ways off.
