Same as Wanted
Ugh, I'm not even watching Wanted. Maybe a rental in the future.

I couldn't agree more it was so terrible

well, that's something!
So its going to make more than 100 trillion dollars?Wow, thats crazy!
I think TDK is gonna make more than people are expecting
He'd probably like to tell us something, but his ass can't, cause he got banned.same. i think everyone owes the likes of storminnormin and the rest who predicted mega-bucks for TDK an apology.
it really does look like TDK is going to be somewhat of a phenomenon.
i wonder what explode7 et al make of articles such as this......

Meh out of everyone who has gotten an early screening your the only one so far I've heard this from. The worst I saw before you was someone saying it was Ok but not all that good. Calling it horrible though I think shows your bias. Most people already knew Wanted was going to suck and with the reviews coming in now it's pretty well publicized that it's a stinker. Hancock is getting some good buzz and the reviewers who can look beyond the one major crude moment are giving it some decent reviews. I personally enjoyed it I found it funny with some pretty decent action.well i guess you were obviously biased before going into the movie.
would you like a real review or should I post that in the hancock thread?
...I honestly think Hancock was horrible. Bad directing, bad acting...bad writing...it seemed like a cool idea...like the action comedy version of Unbreakable...but it was completely unbalanced. The twist didn't feel like much of twist, i didn't really care for the characters...oh and the villain...that was a joke! I don't even know if the actors were told what kind of movie they were making. Sure it had some funny parts...I'll admit I laughed out loud at all the "good job" moments...but as a whole...the film doesn't work on the levels I think they had hoped.
I think Will Smith wanted to make a superhero movie but didn't want it to be based on an existing character and thought that this was the best way to go. Had it been done better...had they balanced the action and comedy...and even the drama later on...it would have been halfway decent. And don't get me started on the sfx and editing...I just didn't like the movie...I'm not trolling these boards to shoot down other films and praise the ones that haven't even come out yet.
Honestly what they should have done was stuck with the broken down, mad at the world, lonely hero stuff throughout the whole movie...and the big pay off would have been his turn around...and not explaining his past...maybe they should have filmed the story he told about what he thought happened to him...opened up with that...and then go into the highway mayhem scene...but...hey...i guess i don't jack about good movie making and thats why i'm not in hollywood making movies....pleaseThe movie sucked.

No one owes anyone an apology until the movie actually comes out and makes a crap load. Lets be honest people were talking that the Hulk was getting more Buzz than Iron Man and it was going to beat it. Then people were saying Sex and the City had a huge number of Pre sales and was a lock for 200M.
Yes, but those were high hopes.
Most of which we express in this thread.
But now that we know that TDK is actually making a lot of money, the ppl saying it would are becoming more and more RIGHT.
This isn't about beating Spiderman.
I don't care about that pansy ass nerd.
This is about beating out the other movies it's in competition THIS YEAR, not from last year or the year before.
So that means Iron Man, Hulk, Hancock, etc.......
The Dark Knight is new and relevant THIS YEAR, not last.
So in the end, all the ppl saying we were "over-hyping" this film to make a lot of money are going to be dead wrong.
We didn't push ppl to spend money and go see this film, this film did that all on it's own.
Meh I wouldn't declare people dead wrong just yet. I mean yea sure ok call them dead wrong if they say less than 235 or something but lets be honest there is no 'for sure' of 300M yet. I'm willing to bet on the fact that TDK will beat out hancock , but I'm still iffy about it beating Iron man. I want TDK to take out Iron Man but still not sure we will see that happen.Yes, but those were high hopes.
