Cool. I kinda hope that Gwen isn't there (unless a crowd gathers to watch the fight and she happens to be in there). She should only be a minor character that serves as a temptation. I never (even in the comics) cared for her character.

Just thinking of a villain "team-up" just brings up bad memories of Joel Shumacher.

Besides, Venom wants to kill Spider-Man himself, why would he want Sandman's help? Besides, Venom has more than enough power.

i doubt there will be a team up. i remember the Q & A (don't know how accurate it is) stated that Venom kills Sandman.

ok ok, if venom is there that would mean that it takes place after the event that made pete hate the symbiote. venom kills sandman and goes after spidey but wheres harry? and the seens with sandman on the building are they the continuation of the armored car seen.

The battle royale takes place after the bell tower/church scene. Venom (at least I think) captures MJ, forcing Spider-Man to come out and face him. Spider-Man sees what Venom can do and goes to Harry and asks him to come and help save MJ. During the fight, Sandman arrives and sees an oppurtunity to take down a weakened Spider-Man. Venom realizes this and kills Sandman, hoping that he can take down Spider-Man by himself.

That'd wouldn't be necessary, since its revealed that Brock learns of Spider-Man's identity at the church. That's, what I think, gives him the idea of going after MJ.

Everyone keeps talking about the Schumaker Batman films, when they talk about teamups. I don't think this is Raimi's point of reference.

I think he's going to do this ala Superman 2, because both Tobey and Sam mention this on the audio commentary on Spider-man 2. Tobey said that was a vivid memory for him as a kid, and Sam said he loved that battle scene.

If that is so then it means that spidey/peter fights venom before the battle royale meaning 2 fights with venom. Because I highly doubt spidey would run away just from seeing venom and even less he would ask harry for help unless he has sufered venom's raw power firsthand. So maybe peter rushes at venom somewhere(maybe before eddie kindnaps MJ) and gets his butt kicked and then when MJ is taken away by eddie/venom peter realizes that he needs help to defeat venom and then he'll come to harry.
