Hah, yea that's not an uncommon occurrence. Lot of ppl on the BF forums complaining about getting kicked by admins for doing nothing other than succeeding.

Yea thats the exact reason i dont join any private servers. As soon as you top the admin, they'll just kick you. You just gotta look for those DICE servers man. I haven't had any problems finding them.

BTW, what was his BS excuse for kicking you?

I got a really meek voice msg, "Oh sorry I meant to kick the guy below you." I didn't care enough to respond back to call him out on his bulls**t.

I found a bunch of official servers and favourited them, as well as a couple servers that promise no admin abuse. I'm surprised they let people put -[DICE]- and all the other variations in their server names too.

I don't think it's too much of a problem, unless u unlocked stuff and got lots of points and then u get kicked. Think of it this way though, they are paying for a server that u beat them on. They lose three times as much when they finally kick u. One for getting their butts kicked by u, two for kicking u for it, and three for paying ridiculous prices for a private server. Triple fail!

Yeah I just stick to the official servers now lol, managed to get Complete Warrior today. It was easier than I thought it'd be.

Just got this game today. Played the multi player and must admit I prefer cod over this...it's very long winded and the spawning can be a pain and unfair.
It doesnt seem as fun and pick up-able as cod.
But I've only played it 5 times so far so I'm still giving it a shot.

I doubt you'll like it considering you're a CoD fan. Its just not meant for people like you. No offense, but its not a game u just jump into and blast people. If you play it the way you play CoD, you are missing the point. The rounds are supposed to be longer and the maps are supposed to be larger. Its not quite as mindless as CoD.

Eh, BF3 has everything CoD does and more, well minus the stupid perks. If ya want the mindless run n gun, BF3 offers a TDM. I suggest CoDers play that and leave the objective stuff for BF fans. Im pretty sure thats why DICE put the TDM mode in, keep the CoDers separate from the rest of the community.

I honestly wouldn't know. Iv played TDM in BF3 once and that was by accident. Iv always hated the idea of TDM within BF3. Complete waste of dev time.

Heh, TDM in this game does remind me of CoD. CoD does the skirmishes better though. As much as I love playing Battlefield 3 the gameplay is sluggish. That's one of the reasons I hated the campaign so much. It works because for the most part we're dealing with large epic battle zones, but when you have 16 people running around such a small space the flaws start to shine through.

I stopped playing CoD because the community is all about k/d ratio, which boils down to nonsense anyway since kill streaks don't require skill and the p2p matchmaking creates unbearable latency lag. To each their own though. I just don't find it fun running around maps the size of a shoebox and praying that I have a better connection so my shots actually count. I'd much rather sit in a helicopter for 30 minutes with a decent pilot, raking in repair and spot assists.

Yeah, i don't think it's fair to completely cancel out COD and I'm also sick of people being elitist about the two game types. Both are perfectly adequate shooters, with one focusing on large scale battles and the other focusing on smaller scale, arcadey FPS fun. The thing that brings COD down is largely due to the Activision business model, the lack of inspired evolution and gameplay design... But at the same time, I know plenty of people who arent fans of the way EA approach Battlefield.

It's perfectly acceptable for someone to like both. For instance, while I hate the MW games, I do really love Black Ops, and while I love Battlefield 3, I really don't find it worth playing unless I have several friends online to squad up with. To me, Black Ops is the perfect thing to just drop into if you want a bit of fast, frenetic multiplayer fun and Battlefield is a great experience with friends.

Let's not get 'snobby' about games. You can hate a game or a game company but let's not hate on other people for liking things we don't. This is a gaming/comic/movie/tv forum, clearly everyone is here because we're passionate fans about something. Why try and tear that down?

CoD WAS fun, fast and satisfying, 5 years ago. It's not my "irrational" hate that's boring. It's CoD itself that's boring. You just play too much CoD you're becoming warped to what's actually boring and what's actually fun. It's why you think CoD is a satisfying game when it's anything but. If you like it, have at it, still doesn't change the fact it's one of the most mindless shooters on the market.

I don't know why but I've been spending a great deal of time playing TDM in BF3, don't get me wrong, I love playing Conquest and Rush as well (not so much on map Operation Metro) but it's addicting, for me at least.

Hahah yeah I faved an official server that cycles Conquest, Rush and TDM. I don't mind when TDM pops up coz I get so many revives.

Ya kno, I can't find any official servers that just cycles rush or cq on all maps. It's either a mix of the 2 on all maps or one or the other but only on like the Karkand maps or select standard maps

Yea thats what it looks like. I now have to check each server because people will label their private servers -[DICE]-. I jumped in to one the other day and it was Rush on all maps, so i was like 'f**k yea' and when the game started the server host had set the tickets to like 200. DICE really has made it a pain to get into a standard hardcore rush on all maps. Kind of annoying.

If you don't like CoD, you should WANT CoD players to enjoy BF3, to show a clear message that CoD doesn't have the monopoly on FPS online multiplayer games.
