EA Battlefield 3 - Part 2

. Close quarters sucked IMO...too much CoD crap influence.

Completely agree man. I got talked into buying the premium and iv played the CQ maps all of ONE time. I felt they were fairly well made maps, but i hate that type of gameplay taking up BF3 DLC

I don't think I'll be playing Close Quarters a whole lot.

Nobody play armored kill yet? Can't wait for Tues!

Heck yeah. It looks beautiful. I actually really enjoyed CQ but im lookin forward to this more

AC 130 gameplay looks good. I might even be able to get the Air Warfare ribbon now.

Time to get back in on this.

The recent update ruined helicopters. IGLAs now have a range almost as big as the map and the gunner flares are gone as well as under the radar. Now people just kamikaze them or they sit at the base after you die 5 times by IGLAs.

The scout helicopters now require a person to laser paint like anyone is going to sit in there and do that.

Choppers weren't too hard to take down before but now it's too easy.

Its good that the gunner flares are gone, that always created problems. I thought the range for the IGLAs were fine before tho.

I use tanks and the jets...my heli days are over. They should have at least kept under the radar so you can take them out with SMAWs.

On Norshar...if you spawn on the boat...you can get IGLAd from the shore. If the enemy are at the cranes, you can't even make it near the shore because of the extended IGLA range now.

I bet we see another patch soon but I know they did that to make the AC130 vulnerable to ground troops.

New maps are freaking sick. Puts those CQ maps to shame. THIS is Battlefield. Bet these are incredible on the PC with the 64 players.

Also, it is still REALLY, REALLY annoying when you get kicked from a server because you beasted the sorry ass host.

I jumped into a match, saw a tank coming down the road so i fired at it, disabling it and then i see a dude jump out so i shot him. A minute later I'm kicked. Hate that s**t.

Yeah those people are losers. About to head home and download!

Iv been doing quick match just to get a feel for the new maps and i had forgotten how dreadfully terrible normal mode is.

Absolutely love these new maps tho.

Yup. Huge download though. I was looking forward to playing it after work but I've had to leave it and let it keep downloading over night :(

New maps are huge....little too big for only 24 players.

I was afraid that was gonna be a problem but I haven't felt that way. Iv been able to get into plenty of skirmishes at the different flags in conquest mode. More useres would deff make these maps better tho. Battlefield 4 is going to have increase the player count on consoles, at least to 32.

I think the 64 player PC battles would be epic on these maps. I think Oman remains my favorite map.

Hmm maybe I'll have to get back into this. I haven't played BF3 since, like, February. :o

Yea theres no doubt about that.

Im not sure of my fav map. I enjoy all the maps save for Metro

Really disappointed with AK. The maps are too big for console (must be amazing on PC) and Rush is almost broken now. Defending on these maps is a lost cause because the attackers get amtracks, tanks, tank destroyers, and an AC-130.

It's so frustrating because the maps are gorgeous. Hopefully it's just a case of being new to the maps, but I'm hoping they make some changes to Rush.

Yea Rush is deff a little unbalanced. The attackers get way too many vehicles, although I did just take part in a rush on alborz that came down to 5 tickets before my buddy was able to set a charge in which I defended. I don't think the maps are too big, looking at ppls scores, they are getting plenty of kills. Iv been avg like 15 per game which is about what I'd do on the other maps.

The maps are only too big if you aren't using vehicles. I love the scope and size of these maps. And I don't think it's unbalanced at all... I mean, logistically yes, because one team has access to more vehicles, but that doesn't make it 'unfair'. If you have a defending team of people all playing as lone wolves, out for their own kills then yes, you'll get destroyed, but that's hardly a new thing. Any game that has vehicles involves a combined team effort to overcome. It's been that way in Halo, in past BF games.... A team working together can dominate with vehicles in the same way that a strong team defence can stop the vehicles from getting anywhere near them.

We defended brilliantly in the desert level with just ONE squad. One guy laser designating, one guy javellin rocketing and one support class refilling the javellins and we held back every single vehicle. The rest of the team were mostly assault and provided ground support and revives, plus this one engineer kept putting down anti-tank mines. It was an amazing game and just highlighted ALL this games brilliance for me, so I have seen no problem with the maps so far.

Yea like i said, i watched my team(Attackers) get down to under 5 tickets before we were able to set the charge and win. I mean it was pretty much luck we set it. But still, at least on Alborz, the attacking team gets way too much support. I mean its a bit ridiculous. At any one point you can have 4 different vehicles rolling into a base PLUS an AC130 above shooting the s**t outta stuff. I think giving the attacking team one less light tank might help, maybe take the Amtrak out. I agree also, that the maps dont feel too big as long as you arent huffin it every where.

But yea, youre right, a good squad can overcome those odds fairly easily.
