I just did not like how bad company 2 felt. Felt very clunky when I played plus I hate vehicle combat except halo. The lighting though is astonishingly great and I'll rent it for the sniping which is really fun

Its absolutely not clunky. Its just not twitch like Halo and CoD. You have to be much more deliberate with your movements.

I hope I'll be able to download the beta. My account is a "child" account. I can play & download DLC for M rated games, but I can't play their demos. -__-

I sorta wish there was a code system like with the Gears 3 beta, I was able to get into that.

You can upgrade to an "adult" account.

Man I love laying down support fire. haha I even managed to pull off a badass infiltration to arm a bomb and held that s**t down til it blew up. lol they were a terrible team tho a guy literally ran right in front of me and didn't notice I was there.

Im done with the beta though. I can not stand the regular game mode. Hardcore mode is so much better. I can't stand that Halo crap where you shoot someone in the back only for them to turn around and ace you. Ill take the 'few shots to the chest kills you over the half a clip to the chest kills' you any day

Lol yea I got killed way too much by guys hiding in bushes like that. It was fun and I got a feel for the game but I dont think I'm gonna play that much either since it's only 1 map.

Pretty noticeable diffrence between the alpha and beta.
Not a fan of the map though, as seems to be the case with alot of people, hopefully they test one of the larger ones.

Yea I'm not really crazy about the map either. Don't care for the subway portion of it.

When I run I get this weird flash every few seconds, like the graphics aren't keeping up with me. And my guns randomly switched while playing as assault, despite only having access to one assault rifle.

I will play more later and hopefully get more into it, but aside from the traversal stuff (which feels fantastic), I didn't really enjoy my brief time with it this morning.

Yeah, so far it is REALLY glitchy. I have found myself under the map while trying to Defend/Attack "A" on the first part of the map (in the park). Then when you die, the map will just disappear altogether and then when it shows who killed me, that person will phase in and out. I have also seen people lying flat on their backs, running and shooting, and the player is not even dead. If that makes any sense. At any rate, I sure hope they release a patch pretty soon, because it's pretty bad right now.

Iv seen the same bugs. There are also occasions where I can't aim down the sights. Glad this is happening in the beta tho. They can get that stuff ironed out before launch.

Tried downloading this last night, at around 1 AM, and it kept asking me for some crazy amount of points (like 400 something billion microsoft points). So, had to wait til today when it stopped asking me for that insane thing, but left it downloading this morning before I headed for work. Hopefully I can get in an hour atleast tonight.

I didn't mind the beta, though I got sick of it after 3 matches. I like that it is less slow than Bad Company 2. It reminded me a lot of Medal of Honor. Finding the mid way point of Battlefield and Cod. Way too much sniper camping, the map is just too big and without vehicles its just a field day for the snipers. I don't see the spectacular graphics that people keep saying, everything looks very plastic, but the lighting is phenomenal. If it wasn't for Dead Space 2 I'd say this has the best lighting of the year so far. I really miss the destruction, sure trees fall but whoop di do. The sound is ridiculously off the charts. I don't think its fair that one side gets to start out with the recoil less m16 and the other side gets the huge recoil ak47. I'd say I loved it much more than Bad Company 2, the prone is annoying and the glitches are crazy but it is a beta so I can't hold it against it. I'd probably the buy the game if it didn't come out a week after Batman and a few weeks before Skyrim. Maybe I'll get it when its on sale during Christmas.

The game has destruction, it's just not wood-paper like Bad Company 2. Try shooting a building with an RPG. In Bad Company 2, if you even wacked a door with a knife, it's basically exploded. Here when you shoot wood, it's chips away in a realistic manner . Likewise with concreate, try shooting a block with a shotgun. The quility of the destruction is higher. This also doesn't have vehicals, in the footage seen, they clearly blast away large sections because they are more powerful than foot weapons.

The map is roughly about the size of your average Counterstrike level. Maybe abit larger. And within the map, it's split into three sections, so it's actually three small maps linked. A fairly tight one as well. The alpha had a vehical, the space was too tight and it was only usable in the first section, so it was taken out for the beta. Personally I think This map is a really bad chioce to show of the game. It just plays almost like a typical shooter. None of the epic scale that makes Battlefield, Battlefield. Whoever thought it was a good idea is a silly billy imo.

I don't see the spectacular graphics that people keep saying

There's only about 2-3 FPS of it's respective genre that can match or exceede it. From the top of my head, Crysis (Battlefield 3 still beats it in respects) Metro: 2033 (which again is beaten in certian regards) and another one who's name I forget. It's also worth noting the scale VS detail, something people endlessly forget. Tight linear games with very little interactivity generally have higher detail with less demand on hardware. This game produces huge 64 player maps with detail above 99% of the games on the market.

Look at the texture detail. Thats locked at medium.

Technically, it pretty much is the best lighting of the year so far. Dead Space 2 has fixed tight area's with hard shadows that allows them to highlight light easy. Just watch the tank trailer with the guy reloading the shell.

So you weren't able to jump into the game and instantly kill everyone on the map? Thats why you didn't like it?

BC2 is better than CoD. You can go get that and its fairly cheap in price at the moment.

Yea, that i agree with. Tons of bugs and its not hardcore mode. I can't stand it.

Its also a poor map. The BC2 demo was the same way. I hated the map they gave for us to try. Still hate it now.

This isn't a tight deathmatch game, so, no idea why you would be looking to this other than the aesthetic.
If you want a deathmatch shooter I would recomend Quake 3, graphically it's aged but the solid, fast paced gameplay is still as strong as it ever was.

Played the beta briefly & I've seen enough. I'm definatly gonna buy the full game. Feels a little closer to CoD in terms of weapon feel & movement, yet at the same time keeping itself close to Bad Company 2.

The knifing is extremely satisfying, infact I spent most of my time jumping over things, diving to prone & gradually stealthing my way into the enemy side & going Michael Myers on their asses.

Definate purchase for me.

Well, I played a match today and even though I didn't do too well (7-12), it was still pretty fun. I can't wait to play the retail game. Just need to practice, practice, practice.
