DC is really using Ruby Rose promotional photo for a Batwoman comic collection?

Quite a bit of speculation over on Instagram that this show is going to wrap with Season 3, although there are plans to keep the Batwoman character (hopefully not in Legends).

Birds of Prey; I'd like to see that. Maybe a rename, but if WB are kind, you can throw in the Gotham City Sirens and make a big thing of it? An ensemble show.

I'm sure some characters can be switched out if WB are too strict.

That's highly unlikely. CW has not ended or canceled a show before S4 in over a decade now.

I wanted her to take over for Ruby from the get go, so I'm excited about that. Sad that it's not going to "her show" though.

I mean, its great that she isn't dead and will show back up. But it begs, absolutely begs the question of WHY? I love Ryan, and I love how she is fitting into the cast. But if recasting was still in the cards, why did they do what they did?

Oh well, should be fun to see Ryan and Kate butt heads.

Considering last night's episode, brief spoiler, and the discussion of "What if" Kate came back and became Batwoman while Ryan has the mantle...and considering that Kate will now have a new look...I don't want to say that Rose's departure put the writers in a corner, but this will be a strange reveal, I'm sure.

What are they gonna blame this on? Far too late to pin it on Crisis.

This kind of annoys me? We went the entire hiatus with the showrunner going "we thought about recasting Kate but decided her story was done and we arent going to recast Rubys role" just to bring in a brand new character to take her place....but NOW you are cool with recasting Kate? When it's no longer her show (lets be real....the likihood of Kate taking up the mantle of Batwoman again is slim to none). I'm so over this showrunner.

Perhaps Day could've been Stephanie Brown instead to avoid the headache of "Why now?" with the recast. Hell, maybe even pre-Killing Joke Barbara Gordon, if just to differentiate from the Oracle we'll get on Titans.

This show has acted like Gotham was a whole different place when Bruce was around. Batfam nowhere to be found, no mentions. GCPD ignored and replaced by a lame Crows.

Granted most of them are probably off limits to the show (which is stupid) but this isnt even a Supergirl situation where she's in a new city.

This show is just one bad decision after another. such a shame. I think it really had potential. The idea of a show about a queer woman taking up the Bat mantle is great, but they really messed it up.
Batwoman is such a great character. I hope this doesn’t leave a permanent stain on the characters future in live action film/tv.

Someone on another forum brought up a good point....Kate will essentially have to be "Oracled" and disabled/lose a limb to make sense of her not suiting up again.

What they should have done in the first place!

I usually hate recasting but this was clearly a case where the character (Kate Kane) was FAR more important than the actress (Ruby Rose) who portrayed her.

The Ryan Wilder character just doesn't work for me. Kate Kane is Batwoman.

What a mess.
