Even though he did let off on these villians no one can be trully certain that he didn't hold back some of his strength in those battles. The fact that these are living beings and that he is sworn not to kill implies that we will alway hold back some of his power to prevent that.

Doomsday doesn't live bncause supes holds backs, he lives because thats what he was created to do. Supes for all intents and purposes KILLED doomsday in the first encounter, supes dies as well. Anyone with a brain can see he gave everything he had to stop dooms. In hunter prey supes gets his ass kicked . He's not holding back because if he does he knows he will die, he BARELY survives. Wave rider gets rid of Doomsday for superman.The same deal in Doomsday wars. Doomsday brainiac handed the entire JLA and orion their asses. They tricked Dooms into a teleporter trapping him there. Dooms was more powerful than supes in all those arcs. Why the hell would ANYONE hold back on a foe that physically outclasses them in every way

It's too bad that someone already hold the rights to that phrase. If sombody colorized the pencils it would be a little bit closer to a Western-style comic. I think the artist's real name is Joel Ojeda Lopez, but I'm not quite sure.

I belive that Superman is more popular that Son Goku (just look at this poll) and that has to be a major factor in a battle between the two.
