^ had the shootout at the end been longer and his final fight with Saint a bit more epic (go hand to hand) id have liked the movie a lot better. All it really needed was more gun play...like when he bombs the cash at the beach...had that been a shootout id have been very happy.

I'll be honest, I LOVE the 04 Skull.

Exactly having Castles family and himself being a target took away from what the Punisher is. Having him and his family just being caught in the middle of a mob hit showed how random violence destroyed his life. It made it like he had to go out and do something about these criminals who go around without a care such as shooting at each other in a park causing his family to be killed.

Exactly what i was getting at. This is why War Zone is better because A) it is the Punisher and B) You see the reason why he is the Punisher. Compared to 04 where it's Frank Castle 'The Avenger'.

Punisher MAX volumes are great as stand alone books, just like War Zone is a great stand alone Punisher film. It would be great to see Ray back for a second run.

Yeah I agree I can only hope we get another Punisher movie with Ray. The best things about PWZ was the Punisher he was protrayed the right way. I just wish the villains were done alittle bit better though.

I liked Jigsaw and LBJ as villains. But only after i realized these guys aren't psychopaths. They are simply mentally ill. Weird thing to realize but it's true.

Yeah...oh, and it had a story, decent acting and dialogue. Honesly, the more I think about it, the only things this movie had going for it were Stevenson and the level of violence. The first film had it's major flaws too, such as Miami, Travolta, FBI agent...and fire hydrants..but inconceivabley, I found it more engaging than this one.

It shames me the films never get it right. 89 a car explosion, 04 ran over, Warzone breif mention (it would have been nice to see Forrest Hunt strung up, but in Scorcesiverse not Lexi) . Instead of criminals, why not take a break and hunt filmmakers?

i actually felt that the "Castle Family Massacre" in Punisher'04 was very well done..from what i gather, many people here like the idea of Frank's family being killed by a random act of violence, well..IMO it seemed like (to the characters) it was pretty random and senseless..and yet Frank knows that they're dead because of him. AND to top it all off he's got absolutely NO ONE to turn to, immediate or extended family. I dont know about the rest of you but that would totally make me wanna go ape***** on the people who did that

i havent seen wz yet but i have gathered from reding watching the trailers and my other asscociates that we get a more comic bok accurate origin, but what about everything else? if being so close to the source material is so important then they shoulld basically use the comicsa as a script.

okay sorry, sometimes i post ass hole comments but i still like the 04 massacre so he has no one to anchor himself to, no one who could keep him "sane" he went out and did what most of us wish we could do when wronged but his inhibitions are gone because he has nothing left to car eor worry about
