The vietman/war vet is an important part of Frank's character, but there's really no need to spend 30 mins of a film on it. It's not like you won't understand his character unless you visually see him go through a war.

I think they're doing the right thing with this movie by starting it where he's already The Punisher and showing the family murder through flashbacks. They can mention that he was a soldier in passing and that's more than enough, IMO.

I agree. I was just saying that it would work if they were doing a Punisher origins story. In this case, it isn't necessary.

Something like the original Kuwait opening from the 2004 film, it doesn't have to be 30 minutes long. All you gotta do is show Frank in the **** and have him doing what he does best.

The Hulk was a long, boring movie though. Some people are tricked into thinking this means it's smart, but no. It's just actionless boredom at it's worse. Frank in the 'Nam would probably have a lot of action, and keep tensions high.

Plus, Bruce Wayne spent probably an hour of Batman Begins training before he actually donned the Batman costume, at least 30 minutes in the far east. And that was done absolutely perfectly.

It didn't take Bruce that long to dress up in a costume and start doing vigilante work.

People hated Hulk because they spent a large beginning of it on his origin. Imagine how people would feel about a half hour long origin.

My Punisher movie would be at least 2 1/2 hours long.

Funnily enough, Blade actually always wore a bomber jacket until the movie. Yeah it kinda sucks Frank won't be wearing his leather trenchcoat, but the wool coat he wears still goes down to around his knees.

- An underlying plot.
- No Mafia or traditional gangster enemy. It's been done to death. I want The Punisher inhabiting a sleazy, grimy world in which he's not the craziest guy there. Imagine Top Dollar and his goons in The Crow. Those kind of people. Real scumbags.
