Well Origins is considered one of the worst of the genre and the Wolverine is decent but not on the same level as X-2 and DOFP.

I'd consider Thor a B and Dark World a C so for Ragnarok to be at an A level, it has to be really step up it's game but with the cast I think it's at least possible.

Iron man 3. It was one of those rare movies where I'd swear they had a checklist of "things Vic likes."

I'd say it's a tie between X-Men Apocalypse and Iron Man 3. I enjoy both, but each of them started out promising yet never really delivered. Gun to head, if I had to choose one of them I'd go with X-Men Apocalypse solely for the scene where [BLACKOUT]Magneto's family gets killed.[/BLACKOUT] Fassbender was terrific there.

I like IM3 even better than TDKR, to be honest. I know that's not a popular opinion.

Close enough for me. The fact that a B list hero can come within striking distance to the arguably #1 hero shows the quality of the Cap films.

But again, the 4 year difference is a telling factor. Movies are held in their highest regard when they have only just come out, which CW had. For TDKR to still win is something.

Also while Batman is the more popular character, let's not pretend Cap is still B list. CW was the 5th movie in which Cap had a major role in the last 5 years.

I wonder where this thread would be next year.

Will Thor: Ragnarok and Logan be included with CW and TDKR or with the rest?

Hopefullyl they are both great. I have hope for both. Mangold is a really good director, I love what I have heard about Ragnorak so far.

They're both good movies, but Iron Man 3 is a notch above TDKR.

Agree on that moment in Apoc. It also had a few other powerful scenes which elevate it.

Apocalypse reminds me of Spider-Man 3 where there are a few great scenes, but it is ultimately less than the sum of its parts. It is okay, but not much more than that. It is the type of blockbuster that you watch and then forget all about it an hour later. It is just kind of "there" and not very memorable.

Yeah it only took Cap to become an A-lister what 71 years until Avengers or 73 years until TWS? LOL

When was Batman an A-lister? Probably what Adam West show? 27 years. Then after how many animated shows and 4 movies even prior to TDKT?

why does the OP think that TDKR belongs on number 2 in the first place?

Because your subjective, minority opinion does not change the fact that TDKR was a generally well received movie?

Iron Man Three is better than either film mentioned in the thread title.

Not surprised at this poll, Iron Man 3 is not a bad movie, it just gets a lot of **** cus "muh Mandarin"

Ha, I predicted Iron Man 3 would win this thread before it even existed! Anyway to quote my original votes:

1 Spider-Man 3 (Seriously, a mess, but at times a glorious one... other times not so much)

2. X-Men: Apocalypse (Doesn't have any awful dance scenes, but is pretty bland save for momentary flashes of quality)

3. Iron Man 3 (I know it would win a poll because it's MCU, but it is as bland as Apocalypse with a worse villain and ending)

4. X-Men: The Last Stand (Hate this movie, I'd put Batman Forever over it too!).

But yeah that should be a thread, now that I think about it. With Civil War and Rises not included since they are the obvious pinnacle of third movies in a series.

Nothing has changed. But if we are adding more, I'd put Batman Forever in as #4 and move XLS to #5.

I agree with this. I would also group Iron Man 3 with this... at least as the not memorable part. It is probably more cohesive, but I never think it ever has a moment as good as the Birth of Sandman or Venom, or the action scenes of Spider-Man 3, or as good as the death of Magneto's family, the Apocalypse/Beethoven scene, and Phoenix in Apocalypse. But it is more consistent than either. Fair point.

I admire the Mandarin twist in IM3 a lot, especially for how it was able to be concealed in the lead up to the film. It might be the most daring twist I think that's ever been done in a superhero movie in the sense of subverting the established canon and audience expectation. But for all that, I still don't think it works. The actual villain of the movie is much less interesting and engaging. I was very much into what Ben Kingsley was doing with the role. I would've loved to see that taken to its fullest potential.

Also, Rebecca Hall is wasted in the film.

was it? I remember a lot of disappointment on these boards when TDKR came out. and a handful of fans who couldn't admit that Nolan could do wrong and therefor the movie had to be great.

I don't particularly like the MCU all that much, but Iron Man 3 is one of the five films I'd consider pretty damn good stuff from them. IM3, X-Men Apocalypse and TDKR are all films I really enjoy though.
