I was never expecting much from Thor but it was enjoyable, i didn't see the film, only read the script and serves as an entertaining film. Now the first Green Lantern trailer wasn't really anything, but now after seeing the longer one i believe it can be very good.
I always loved the WW1 stories of cap america and the film may be good or terrible, considering the director is kinda bad and all that sci fy they droped but since Joss whedon rewrote the script i'm less scared.
But in the end i think the best film will be X-Men: First Class because of it's originality and interesting setting.
But we'll see.

Yeah, I think it will be X-Men as well. I trust the director to deliver a fine film and the majority of the cast seems to be great (Fassbender :awesome:)

I'm gonna go with either Thor or Green Lantern. They both have good potential.

I'm already a little bit dissapointed with thor because i don't see him wearing his helmet
it's like making a spideman movie without his mask or batman without his ears etc.

It's not that big a deal.

Think Captain America and Green Lantern are going to be great. Worried about Thor and X-Men.

I don't see how people can be worried about x-men, it's being handled by the right people, it's original and it has an interesting tone and seting.

It's really anyone's game this summer imo. For me, X-Men: First Class is the underdog, just because it's getting the least "can't wait" buzz out of the four, but from what I've seen, it has potential.

so far i've only seen thor, but gl is looking like it will be a huge scifi movie.

Ok, I've seen Thor, Green Hornet & X-Men: First Class. While none of them sucked, neither would I consider any of them great. GH was ok and XMFC & Thor were both solidly good. I guess I'd give the edge so far to Thor for the year. It has less plot holes than X-men and more consistent quality of acting from the entire cast. I'm still a bit skeptical of how well Green Lantern will turn out. Cap looks solid and I would not be suprised it it ended up taking the crown.

from what i've seen in the x forums First class seems to be the best one yet.

After having seen Thor and First Class...Thor was good, but it is going to be hard to beat First Class I think.
I'm staying optimistic for Cap, but I honestly don't have a lot of confidence in Green Lantern.

On subsequent viewings, first class for me has dwindled a bit. It's the same effect that I noticed in the other X-Movies. I think I've nailed it down what's causing it. It's the way the characters(usually with the exception of the one's portrayed by highly skilled actors like Stewart, McKellan, McAvoy, Fassbender, Cox) talk. Very matter of fact dialogue and real people don't talk that way. They work things around so it sounds like something that naturally would come out of their character's mouths. It's more than just what they say(though that's important too), it's how they say it. And I find that I am quite sensitive to dialogue or delivery that feels out of place.

I agree. Haven't seen X-Men FC yet but this is a proiblem with the vast majority of superhero movies.

It's one of the reasons the Iron Man movies are my favorites. Fav's use of improv really helped out with those. I sure hope Shane Black can keep that aspect to the franchise with IM3.

Sorry guys, i forgot Green Hornet, i didn't think it was bad, in fact i think it was a very funny film, and it seems like those who bet on Green Lantern lost.
Thor was better than i expected, i thought it would be too chessy and the trailer made the movie seem like a B monster movie.
In the end it was great
1st- X-Men: First Class
2nd- Thor
3rd- Green Hornet
4th- Green Lantern
It's a shame they didn't make a Green Arrow movie, it would be the 3rd Green movie this year.

my moneys on captain america

^I agree. I think Cap'll be the best of the year. To me, Thor now holds that spot but Cap just looks better from everything I keep seeing about it.

First class was on another level .Cap has to be something special to reach that level

I hope your right. I was honestly anticipating CA more than anything else. FC caught me by surprise and that's currently my number one.

It's not that big a deal.

In your opinion....... Maybe not so when it comes to the fans.

When Thor got his hammer and powers back, the helmet should have come with it(He looked very cool wearing it at the beginning of the movie).

They even screwed up on the toys. All the figures have no helmet....... and aren't selling(Why would kids want to buy a little bearded, long haired action figure?). Meanwhile the hammers and helmets are selling just fine....

I'm thinking that Batman: Year One will be my favorite one this year. Hopefully Captain America: The First Avenger will be as good ans the first Iron Man film.

I had a lot of faith in FC with Vaughn and Singer working on it but it surpassed even my expectations. Its got me truly excited for the X-men series again for the first time since before I saw TLS.

Really the only comic book film to drop the ball for me was Green Lantern. I'm very excited about Captain America.
