Best Character Arcs of All-Time

Luke Skywalker. Or better...Darth Vader

Agreed 100%. One of my favorite movie characters ever. The script for that movie is quite amazing. It blends so much at once without ever feeling bombarded. It never got a case of "Spider-Man 3 Syndrome."

How the Nolans were able to coherently fit Batman, Joker, Two-Face, Gordon, Maroni, Alfred, Fox, Rachel, and Scarecrow into one movie... I'll never understand.

It's not really that hard to understand because they all fit into the overall narrative. The problem with movies like Spider-man 3 and X-Men 3 is they try to tell completely different stories for each character with little to no connection. Raimi bit off more than he could chew with Spider-man 3, it should have just been about Peter vs. Harry, Sandman had absolutely no motivations in the movie and was just used for the fun effect of his powers. Venom and the black symbiote also seemed shoehorned in so you have just a mess. With X-Men, both the cure and Dark Phoenix could have been a great storyline, however, combine them and it just doesn't work. The Dark Knight works because everything in the movie is connected, if people say you can take out the Joker and the movie still holds up it's a lie, Joker is the catalyst, Dent's transformation doesn't happen without the Joker.

Dude this is hilarious. I wrote mine without seeing your post and now notice that we have six of the same ten. Great minds think alike. :hehe:

Good thought on Ethan Edwards, I didn't think of that one and he is worth noting.

I'll throw in Prvt. Trip in Glory as well.

Nice to know I'm not alone. Great stuff.
