I couldn't find a thread on the subject. If there is, please merge/lock.

For me :

_ The Joker.

_ Judge Death.

_ Kingpin.

Among the new ones, so far I like Professor Pyg in Grant Morisson's Batman and Robin.

^I had to look him up on Wiki (I've read a few Preacher but not the ones where he's featured), he looks like a great villain.

Also speaking about lesser known (by me at least:woot:) villains, I really like Whiteface, Nighthawk's nemesis in Supreme Power (Way and Dillon's realistic take on the Batman mythos).
Incidentally, it looks like both Herr Starr and Whiteface were drawn by the great Steve Dillon.

DC comics:
- Joker
- Lex Luthor
- Two-Face
- Sinestro
- Jason Todd

Marvel (im a Marvel noob btw :P)
-
Norman Osborn
- Ultimate Red Skull
- Magneto (Ultimate and Canon)
- Loki (Ultimate and Canon)

Good list:up:. I forgot about Loki. Loki is awesome.

Also I like The Hood, because he is a villain but in a way he's also a good guy.

And Dormammmu.

And Judge Fear, Judge Fire and Judge Mortis : The Dark Judges.

And The Public Spirit, The Sleepman and Gangreen from Marshall Law.

I have a lot of favorites, but for me my number one is Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow.

Good one. I also like the ventriloquist for some reasons, Clayface and Black Mask.

Black Mask was like a pouting child in Under the Hood and War Games. Though, I'm loving his new take; I'm glad to see the character's back on track.

I think Harvey Two Face takes the cake for me.

however if someone has recommended reading for Doom it would be much appreciated.

Even though I love the character, I am not a Doom specialist unfortunately, I could use the help too and it would also be appreciated, thanks.

Doom vs. The Beyonder for all the chips in the Galaxy.

Doom had some good stuff during the Waid run. Go get

Fantastic Four : Unthinkable
Fantastic Four : Authoritative Action

Also get Fantastic Four : John Byrne Visionary titles. Pretty much any of the volumes.

Emperor Doom is an Avenger story but it's pretty much a Doom story. Ever wonder why Doom just doesn't take over the world? Here's the one where he does.

Also there's a Dr. Strange / Dr. Doom graphic novel where Doom challenges for the Sorcerer Supreme spot.

:doom: :doom: :doom:

Joker has got to be the best for me in comics. Norman Osborns a close second, but missing the complete over the top terror that the Joker being portrayed lately in comics has. Joker today has got a "lock up your dogs, and bolt the windows, this mother is crazy

I concur. Always looking forward to more Joker in the comics or in any medium actually. I liked his latest portrayal in the game Arkham Asylum.

Just started reading Mark Waid's Irredeemable. And I gotta say, The Plutonium is one mean mother ****er. He make the likes of Dr Doom piss in their mystically armoured pants.

Lol:woot:.
Unfortunately not familiar with that character but the way you describe him made me want to become acquainted.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to include Manga, but Johan from Monster has got to be the scariest, yet most well developed character I've ever read in comic form. His quote is just downright unsettling;

"Look at me! Look at me! The monster inside of me has grown so big!"

:D It's a really good series out of BOOM studios. It's sorta a deconstruction of superheroes. The Plutonium started out as the most powerful and noble super hero. But eventually the ridicule, the responsibility and all that got too much for him, so he snapped.

He's basically Superman but completely ****ing mental.

He sounds like a cool character/villain, I like the concept:up:, I will check him out.
