I saw There Will Be Blood again some days ago, and that final scene is ****ing genius. Absolute convention-defying madness. And extremely Kubrickian aswell.

Goddamnit. Why doesn't anyone ever take the effort to explain WHY? Threads like these always turn into people posting long lists, which seems to me to have no purpose but to increase the post count. Isn't this a film discussion forum?

The Thing. OK, it is my favourite film, but the ending tops it all. The bleakness is really refreshing, and the fact that you know nothing about whether their infected or not is genius.

the departed, you couldn't see the ending coming a mile away. I was completly breathless. BB, the whole joker card made you smile and say "holy ****!" casino royale, Bond getting the best pay back and quote. Ending with the Bond score which was missing in the film.
The Warriors, being able to return home and see the rogues getting what they deserved. Robocop, one word. Murphy. Wanted, "what the F have you done lately?" star wars empire strikes back, do I honestly need to spell this one out? Vader's revelation, the crew ready to begin the hunt for Han, it ends beautifully. That's all I can think of right now.

I knew someone would follow suit...With my Opening scenes thread...Nirvana's a biter!:hehe:

One that hasn't been mentioned from a film that a saw recently would be...Ocean's Twelve...Film was alright...But the end seemed really fun! Basically just the cast hanging out playing some poker, drinking...The good stuff...Many good actors there just hanging out, never really see that in movies...!

That movie is a guilty pleasure of mine. So much hamming it up but I love it.
Especially hearing Jet Li say, "I am nobody's *****, you are mine."

lmao:word::word::word:

To stay on subject, the original Saw had an insanely surprising ending.

Never thought the dead body was actually the guy pulling the strings the whole entire time. Oh and the music too, oh baby.

^The original Saw did have a crazy ending that IMO no one saw coming. Too bad each one after that sucked chode.

I'm probably one of the few that loved the ending to "Heat."

After all that went down, the last bullet was shot, then cue the great music as Pacino shakes DeNiros hand until he dies. Pacino looked relieved yet sad, he lost a great advasary.

Anyway here's my list.

Heat
The Departed
Where The Money Is
Shaun of The Dead
Training Day

Comic Films

The Dark Knight
Spider-Man 2
Batman Begins
Iron Man
The Incredible Hulk

Terminator 2's sarah conner's speech makes you feel guilty to be alive. The fact a machine can have more compassion than a human can. It's quite something, especially with arnie being slowly lowered into that molten metal. It's real powerful stuff.

And of course, it has to be back to the future for pure geekasm, flying car scene is the best geekout moment ever.

honourary mention to spidey one's end swing, I cried with joy with that one.

Spider-Man 2 has an amazing ending too. Mary Jane running away from her wedding, J.J.'s comedic moments during it, then Peter and Mary Jane's final scene together in the movie, her speech, finally hearing her say on film ''Go get em tiger." and him swinging off to save the day while she stays behind with a lucky of mixed feelings about the future that's coming for them.

Its gotta be The Dark Knight for me. It just felt so epic and suited the film perfectly. Not a happy ending by any stretch but it still leaves hope. And the music leading up to it was just perfection.
But i gotta give a shout out to The Usual Suspects and Se7en aswell, i mean what brilliant twists at the end. Suspects i couldn't see coming so it was just incredible when Spacey just snapped out of that limp! Se7en i could see coming from the way Doe was talking to Mills in the car, well i knew something happened to his wife, maybe not what actually happened! That was just a horrifying ending and it makes it worse to think that Mills will probly spend the rest of his years in a mental institute!

The Dark Knight
Usual Suspects
Se7en
Saw
Batman Begins
Departed
V For Vendetta(One of the greatest explosions ever!)

Batman Begins
12 Monkeys
Donnie Darko

And I may get attacked for saying these, but emotionally they got to me:

Phenomenon
A.I.

Just off the top of my head Iron Man, mainly for it being so unconvential in superhero movies, revealing his secret identity, then of course the "second ending" with Nick Fury because it just perfectly sets up Marvel's gameplan.

Another one I just thought of, Almost Famous, brilliant ending. Russell thinking he's at Penny Lane's house, but actually at William's house and William finally gets his interview.

the original Planet of the Apes
Citizen Kane
Jaws
Star Wars
The Godfather
etc!!
