I think this poll's a little slanted. A lot of people hated the 3rd installlments of Blade & X-Men and may be voting against the entire franchises because of it.

I went with Daredevil (Director's Cut). I love the first two X-Men films as well, but I have never really enjoyed the Spider-Man films. And Blade just sucked.

Spider-Man 1 and 2 is the winner.
Blade 1 and 2 would've tied 1st place...if it weren't for Blade: Trinity.

I'd switch those around. I don't even consider Blade:Trinity a Blade movie. Hopefully they'll re-make it (like they doing with Hulk) or give us a kick-ass Blade 4.....wishful thinking, i know.

What's this X3 you guys keep talking about? I don't seem to remember anything about it. Hey, maybe I've wiped it from my memory cause it sucked complete a$$ compared to the first two, and I want to remember the franchise as one of the best comic book movie series I've ever watched. Yeah that's probably it.

So I'll vote for X-men, for the first 2 movies, but I suspect that if I could remember anything about that last one, the soulless, crappy one-liner filled, nonsensical, stupid summer movie, I'd vote Spidey. At least those two were pretty good overall as well, with character, story and action.

Ok I voted Hilk but,I know you dont care why so Il skipall that.
Il just say that IMHO its been THE best comic book movie ever made.

I loved Blade 1 and 2(2 is great) but Three was just all over the road.Hard to believe it was written by Goyer,who redeemed himself with BB..Still kinda puts me off he wrote that following trinity.How do you write one thing so terrible and then something so great within such a short time frame?
Blade 3 did have its moments but they were all entirely Snipes-the addition of the nightstalkers just didnt work-ah well.I still blame all that on a loss of intrest with all parties invovled.Still would love to see him play Tchalla.Never forget when you have such HIGH expectations you can only be let DOWN.

X1=great-X2 even better ,..rather than bash three Il say that what DID work for one is what worked for Spidey,and thats HEART.

Spidey 1 and 2-I liked two better than one actually-Its just a great follow up movie since you have the origin out of the way (for all you cave dwelling Bin Laden types that dont know Spider-Mans origin)

Punisher-Still dont know what people hated about this flick(hate is such a strong word)Dont get me wrong there was all kinds of lame to go around like the end with Travolta being dragged by the car....yeesh,..ok maybe hate isnt so strong,..However there is a lot I did like,such as the action sequences-
Punisher is a good excersise in action that works.The fight between him and Russian guy flowed really well and had sweet cinematography.As opposed to say BB,where all the fight shots are really tight close ups and heavily edited with cuts.In fact,there are a lot of great shots in Punisher(arial view of when hes crawling out of the car after it flipped,love that shot)
Daredevil-That was just plain BUNK(sorry)A better Directors cut would be two hours of blank screen

F4-Still havent seen-I do wanna(waiting for HBO)I liked Grufford in King Arthur.And I love The Shield-But like most, bad reviews have put me off from even renting it.

alright let me separate this...

adapting for me is taking something from one world and making it fit and make sense in another world.

the one that best does this is The Hulk. if any of these films were to happen in the real world, i think the one that would best follow the events of the movie would be the hulk.

however with a translation, is trying to recreate a fictional world on screen, bringing the comics to life.

the best film at doing this i feel is spider-man, it feels like you are in a comic and and emphasis on realism is lost as you escape away with the character...you pretty much know that if these early events were to occur in the real world, it would never reach the same conclusions.

so hulk is best adaptation
spidey is the best translation in my eyes.

personally i prefer adaptations to translations, since with no translation is ever going to be as enjoyable as the comic it's come from.

so hulk wins

As well they should. If you're voting on a franchise on a whole, a terrible ending chapter is more crucial than a good opening. That's why finales and the very end of rock concerts are much more energetic than the beginning, because the ending always leaves more of a lasting impression than the opening. It's how the human mind works.

Sin City is the most closely adapted since it was basically translated to film.

Very true, that was an excellent adaption. They didn't change style or anything. The only thing that could be as close to the orginal sourec as this outside of marvel and dc would be sin city 2

Spiderman because they remembered to keep Spidey as Peter. That is, Spiderman is this very human young man in a costume. That when he's in his Peter Parker i.d., he's not some god walking among men disguised as a regular guy: he is a regular guy who can do extraordinary things.
