In Your Opinion Wat Marvel Movie Stood out to you in terms of a marvel movie?

Your Choices...
Sam Raimi Spiderman 1 or 2
Bryan Singer Xmen 1 or 2
Jonathon Hensleigh The Punisher
Ang Lee HULK
Tim Story Fantastic 4
Mark Steven Johnson Daredevil

Sam Raimi in...probably SM2 more than 1.

Sam Raimi, especially in Spider-Man 2 where he was freed up to use more of his trademark style and camera angles, like the city turning into Ock's sunglasses, the scene transition through Spidey's logo, etc.

Bryan Singer got it MARVELous right for me in X-Men. It was just like reading the comics again!

Bryan Singer was MARVELous for me in directing X-Men:wolverine

I'm not the biggest comic geek but I know X-men comics and those films (while great) weren't good representations of what kicked so much 2-dimension @ss in monthly issues:o:up:

No question, Singer's X-Men.

For a start, the superhero movie genre wouldn't be where it is today without X-Men. Hulk, Spider-Man, Daredevil, all these movies only got greenlighted on the success of X-Men.

Also, Singer brought reality to it. He didn't make a typical 2D adventure movie. He treated the X-Men as real people and focused on the characters more than the action, and that allowed Raimi and the others to follow his lead (some may even say too much, in the case of Ang Lee).

Watch the first fifteen minutes of X-Men, until Logan's truck explodes. Watch Logan and Rogue - they are real people in those scenes. That is the most believable any superheroes have even been. And then watch XIII, with it's action hero Wolverine, and see how far the franchise has fallen.

^^ Indeed. I think you hit the nail on the head. But I also take adaptation into it, if it was general asthetic quality Singer's X-Men 1 WOULD be top.

1. Spider-Man 2 by Sam Raimi
2. X2 by Bryan Singer
3. X-Men by Bryan Singer
4. Spider-Man by Sam Raimi
5. Hulk by Ang Lee

Those are the only stand out achievements of direction in Marvel movies (DC has brought some good ones in with Donner, Nolan and Burton obviously...and some really bad ones too).

I suppose Mark Steven Johnson deserves a small mention who did have a great style and visual eye but had no restraint or control in his direction/editing and even less in his clunky mixed bag writing. And in all honestly Ghost Rider looks like a step down from the DD DC in my opinion though.

Agreed. It looks plain bad in the trailers.

I vote Spider Man 2. Raimi is really on top of his game at this point.

IMO Bryan Singer's Xmen style is boring.

l love the x-men and spidey films, but i voted for hulk. i thought ang lee did a great job. also i thought it deserved more than 2 votes:O

go ahead and flame.:bomb:

I love Singer's X-Men movies, but they are not very similar to the comics at all. But the Spider-Man movies are Marvel's best, so I vote for Raimi.

Spiderman 2 was a great film but I thought Ang Lee put everything he had an more into the Hulk. It might not have been what most expected but as a director he did an awesome job. Not the popular choice but it's mine.
