Best MCU Origin Film?

Ehh, Incredible Hulk isn't an origin film.

I really liked Ant-Man. Not as much as Captain America or Iron Man though.

Dr. Strange blew them all away. Iron Man and Strange were neck and neck until the final act.

And I do really enjoy the first Thor movie, but it seems kind of small scale in retrospect... Odd to say considering it shows us an entirely new setting off planet.

Objectively it's either Iron Man or Doctor Strange. I voted Strange. It's just felt more exciting, and I liked characters more. Yes, RDJ as Tony Stark is phenomenal, but so is Cumberbatch as Strange, and I just love the supporting cast in that film.

Does Thor count as an origin? I don't think The Incredible Hulk should count unless you see the opening credits as the origin story?

It's funny, we have our 'traditional' linear origin story superhero films. And then we have movies that we don't look at as 'origin' films, especially for team movies, like GOTG. Do we count that? It is the origin of the team.

hard decision, because even though Doctor Strange was the better movie AND had the better origin story, TFA was the better origin movie on a technical level. So I voted for TFA

Good point. I would say that Thor is an origin story. While it wasn't a story how some guy got powers, it was a story how a guy became a hero.

I'll vote Iron Man, because the entire sequence involving the construction of the first suit in the cave is cinematic superhero gold.

I love them all for different reasons.

I'll vote for Iron Man, just because of RDJ.
